Killed before my time

Hey there, I was having a game of SoaSE against a friend and a team of 6 or so hard AI we were seeing who would die first, he launched an all out attack on me to finish me off whilst pirates and an armada destroyed his planets. I launched 3 colony ships and evacuated with these and a Capital ship intending to flea to another star system and take over control of a planet from a vulnerable enemy.

Alas in transit to the other star system I lost all of my planets. I was completely capable of surviving longer and winning the wager we had on who would live the longest but because I had lost all my planets I lost control of all of my ships. Should the game not end when all of the colony ships are destroyed, there are no planets available to capture which have no media influence and or the players has no means to bombard any planets and all the planets are colonised by enemies? It is abit of a stupid condition for the game I understand but it is more a battle of principle that I was not past the point of reproducing when I was told I had been defeated.

Technicly the game is over when there are no planets under your control and you have neither colonising ships or planatary bombardments ships. I can see no reason why that shouldnt be the case anyway :P I figured the community should hear of this rather more elaborate game end condition at least!

I thought that was the case already: you aren't defeated until you have neither colonies nor colony ships. Is that not the case?

Nope in 1.05 its when you have no planets you lose. Exception is in a locked game with team members where if you have atleast one team member alive you are technically still in the game and capable of colonize after all your planets are destroyed
