Impules Problems

Is anyone else having problems with Impulse?  I can't get it to work right on either of my two computers and a friend of mine is having problems with his SoSE install as well. 

On my notebook it says it is preparing to download but then never does anything.  On my desktop PC it won't update my latest Galactic Civ addon thought Stardock Central works with it just fine.

Frankly, I'm really unimpressed with Impulse.  It consistently doesn't work.  I just wanted to see if others are having as many problems as I am.  Running/updating games shouldn't be this hard.

Impulse uses Windows' BITS service by default for the downloading, but this seems to have issues under certain circumstances. If you have the latest version, there is an option for an alternate method in the preferences (click the blue orb button in the corner) which should resolve that trouble.

As to the other issue, can you give more detail?

I'll try that. Can you give me some more info on BITS service? I've never heard of it.

As to more info, I'm not sure what you need but will be happy to provide it. I originally had the beta installed, but have since used Stardock Central to upgrade to the non-beta. Stardock central handled this without issue. Impulse seems to be confused by it and refuses to give me any updates.

Yeah, SDC's support for expansions was not very good, so Impulse can have trouble recognizing that they're installed if SDC was the one that did it. Removing them via SDC then installing them via Impulse (once your download issue is solved, of course) should sort that out.

That may well help Kryo, it's worked for others.

Any new updates are only being published to Impulse, not SDC anymore. If you do open SDC, do not allow it to update your games, therein lies trouble.
