The Italian plumber and giant gorrilla are going to duke it out right here!! Come one come all!

Just a thought.....Who do you think is better? Donkey Kong or Mario? Personally if you ask me I'm going to go with Donkey Kong. I say this because come on, he's smart enough to use a gun. All Mario really does is jump around on things to kill them. Ok, so he can get the little starts and whatchamacallit things that make him spit out fire balls. But that's no fun. DK uses a totally awesome gun. And plus....he's cute and cuddly. And he wears a really awesome tie! How many monkys do you know that wear a tie? It even has his name on it. Mario is a plumber, i mean come on. Sure he has Yoshi, but I even think Yoshi in himself is even better than Mario. The only way Yoshi makes Mario look good is b/c he kicks butt, and he's cute too! But personally from playing Nintendo games I usually choose DK on games that you can choose other characters from. He's just plain out better. I usually win more with him too.

So I'd like some feedback, some opinions. Who do you think is better?

I don't think either one is up to par with Luigi. He's the shorter, younger plumber, but he's the better of the two. His games are more unique and the way he uses his powers are much better than mario's ways of using them. Like, his fireball goes in a straight line instead of bouncing all over the place, and his upper-cut is better. DK just looks good cause he's naked. He's too slow to catch them and his strength just doesn't cut it in the end.

Ok, wait. Where in the world did Luigi come into play? lol. Yeah Luigi is ok I guess. Better than Mario. And Luigi is the taller one, Mario is the shorter one. duh, lol. Aren't animals supposed to be naked? If he's too slow than hows come I'm better with him on games than I am with Mario or Luigi?

I like Mario because he's Italian. He's also a good dancer (i.e. Superstar Saga). Besides, I love Super Mario Sunshine (maybe it's all the water, but that's one of the few games I still occasionally have dreams about).

Wow...you're actually posting a video game article???...creepy, anyway I think that Donkey Kong could take Mario in hand to hand combat if not for anything buy the size...and don't forget all of DK's friends(Rambo, Enguarde, etc)

Heh Shaun....yeah, a little creepy isn't it?! Yeah well what can I say I was really bored last night, oh i'd say around 12:30am and it was just something that poped into my head after seeing a commercial about a donkey kong game. Yeah just because you hardly never hear me talk about video games doesn't mean I don't play them. Jeez, did you think my life was that boring?! lol. Basically I don't play the kind of games you guys play. Yeah DK could so totaly take Mario! He does have a lot of friends. But then agian so does Mario. (luigi, yoshi, princess peach, etc....)

WHAT THE CRAP?!? Mario owns just because he's classic! You can't beat 16-bit Mario World for NES. I'd pick Mario and Luigi in a tag team over Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong any day. Luigi does that sweet jump, too; his legs flop all around. They used to anyway, I don't know if new technology has hampered Luigi's hops at all. DK is a sellout, I mean he's trying to be a musclehead, punk, and enforcer all at once. Not to mention plumbing makes better money than gorilla-ing.

I gotta go with Mario. In Mario World, he can fly and throw the shells! I *heart* Mario World. And where else in a game can a character go to various lands like water, ice, green, and my personal favorite -- giant.

Donkey Kong is da bomb! (although I haven't played it for years) I used to be damned good at it, even if I have to say so ~myself.

I'm going with Mario. He's thrived in so many different situations (as a doctor, plumber, guy in a fox suit, etc.). He saves the princess and smashes those little mushroom thingies. He's good for the environment (Super Mario Sunshine). In fact, Mario should run for president. Like Dusk411, I also *heart* Mario World.

If you've ever played Super Smash Bros. Melee you'd understand how much better Mario is than DK. The only good move DK has is the move when he pounds the ground. All of his other moves stink in comparison to Mario's moves.

Zelda isn't a dude, Link is the dude. Zelda is the princess. I love Kirby's throw and the whole jumping for forever thing is pretty cool but it's nothing when you can't even get a shot off. If you're floating around you're a sitting duck. The only thing I don't like about Sheik/Zelda is her teleporting and changing time. It's too slow.

But if I had to pick a 2nd favorite it would have to be either Pikachu or DK. I use DK as a "suicide bomber". If you don't know what I'm talking about grab ahold of somebody with him and just walk forward, then think what would happen if you grabbed ahold of somebody right at the edge of a map. Can you say sweet?! Pikachu's teleportation and thunder moves are by far my two favorite techniques in the game.
