Who is your favourite race and why?

Choose between TEC, Advent, Vasari, Pirates, and Space Ponies.

I'm not sure if I really have one from a storyline point of view. I usually go with the TEC because they're the humans in the game, but they kicked a lot of people off of their homeplanet, for god's sakes! Just because they were 'deviants' doesn't mean they can just show up and do something like that. (And they still think that was the best thing to do? Looks like we're never gonna get civilized (:( ) The Advent, though... you'd think after like 1000 years people would learn to forgive people's ancestors for their stupidity. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing is justified. And the Vasari... are slavers.

With gameplay, on the other hand, I like everybody. Except pirates. I like their bases though, and the bonus to tax rate you get. Mmm... boooooty.... (drools)

Space Ponies, Hellz yeah!


TEC; Underdogs, fight with bullets and and non-phase missiles. AND they can still kick the other race's ass. You got to say, that's impressive.

I originally liked TEC, but now I'm liking Advent, mainly because I like to build up to max cap ships and I like the free XP lvl10 tech. I play SP only right now, though, so that may change :).

I'm a TEC man myself, who occasionally plays Advent for a little variety. From a story perspective I like the underdog, which in a way is both the TEC (Being attacked on all fronts) and the Advent as well (Forcibly exiled from their home). Gameplay-wise I'm a Boomer, so the TEC are a natural choice.

My favorite is the tec because they remind me of Star Trek's Federation of planets in the way they try to be so self rightous and nearly got their butts kicked, they too had to convert those fancy over clean starships into more of a warship and fight dirty.

Hi!
For SP I'm currently preferring Advent. Despite I'm not using Repulse much I like great fleet-killing capabilities of their cap-ships. OTOH I dislike the low planet-killing capability of Malice/CB cap combo (my first two caps). Guess one can't have everything... ;)

Against the CPU, TEC.

Grab a few planets early, fill em with trade ports, get development mandate and pump out even more credits :)

The kodiak heavy cruisers also dish out a rather large portion of ownage, in large groups.

The Advent are freaky communist-feminist-convert-or-die people. (They are people, aren't they...)
The TEC are pretty good over-all)
Pirates can just die.
Space Ponies, don't even go there...

I have to say Vasari. Their LRF is amazing (particularly for rushing) and so is their Heavy Cruiser, which is a beast. Then, there's the Phase jump techs and RA. They really fit my play style (I don't need no stinking economy! I just need to annihilate they other players.)

Vasari, I like how they are running, such a mighty empire on the run.
Gaming wise, I like their ability to "cheat" phase lanes with phase stabilisers allowing you to jump from one end to another without alot of back jumping planets possibly through hostile territory, also I love the sheer firepower and strength of the ships.
