Sword of the Stars - what i want in sins from this game

Hi Guys

I'm just giving the BOB demo a go after hating it the first time around. I like Sins better but some features from SOTS I would like added to sins are:

a) Strapping weapons and gear on ships that can be seen in battle. The gear could be seen tracking faster or giving the ship more speed.

b) A much larger research tree

c) Fuel maybe?

Im not to sure about A but B,and C I can agree with.

First B: Although alot say the tree is already big enough I personaly Like Playing larger map with 5+ stars and unless I play with long research time's Ill end up with everything research before I leave the first star.

Now C: This is probably going to be put down by people who say "Thats what fleet upkeep is for" But I think fual should acually be a meter next to the ship that if it hits 0 you would need to bring a resupply ship or something. This may be to much mirco management however so Maybe Have repair bays fual ships also.

The fuel in the game is Antimatter. If you run out of it you can't jump to other planets or systems, and you can't use you're ships special abilities.

Antimatter has no effect on whether or not you can phase jump. You lose a chunk of what you have when you do but if you don't have any antimatter, you can still jump.

Too much micro (that's one of the reasons I never got into SOTS).

I love SOTS, about as much as I love Sins.

They are, however, different games. Ideas are always worth considering, but while fuel is fine for a turn-based game, I'm not sure how it would do with Sins' RTS nature.

1 refinery ship for each big fleet, how is that more micro than using abilities on every ship in Sins? :P

But the one and only thing i want from SOTS, in sins, is the combat.. The physics and pure feel of the combat in SOTS is just awesome. The variety of the weapons and tactics each bring.

I have SotS and just ordered the Collectors Edition through Target.com. I am looking forward to it coming next week.

So now I can play:

Space Empire IV, and V
SoaSE
and
SotS

I also have GalCivII, but have not played it in a long time. But for whatever reason I am considering getting the latest version in stores for $20.00 that has everything in it. Collectors Edition is it?

I simply enjoy SotS but man is it hard. The AI will fold you up into a neat and tidy little box and then dispose of you with little trouble.

Excellent game and as I was told by another users on their forums, No Disk Required in the Drive to play the CE version of SotS. Yeah! :)
