It's so very attractive.
Looking good. :CONGRAT:
If only it was based on Australian politics (ala the political system I DO actually understand).
EDIT: Wow, McCain's chin is so large it's knocking him over.
They've mentioned that there is a Drengi High Lord election scenario, so yeah. You can campaign to be the ruler of Drengi however you want - do you want to be nicer to those slaves in the pits or do you want to crack down on diplomacy?
It'll probably be the last scenario I try, but it looks like fun anyway.
Anyone else notice Bret Hart is the Celeberity who is endorcing McCain, he's not even American!
I guess for once he actually feels their pain.
I realize it is late in the development cycle to be asking about this and/or possibly making suggestions, but I'm curious if The Political Machine 2008 will possibly deal with duplicitous candidates. For example, with the issues that pop-up and must be dealt with in some way, lets say that you choose to use an approach that pleases the electorate in Ohio but would do so at the expense of voters in say Mississippi and causes them to shift more of their support to the other candidate. Will PM2008 offer that sort of subtlety, or more of a straightline choice A results in a gain or loss nationally and not so much regionally or locally??
This game is on my to buy list along with pretty much every game made by stardock
If you take a look at the screen shot where the Steven Colbert character is talking to John McCain about high gas prices (image_17.png) there is a typo. It says:
"I don't know about you, but the ever-rising gas prices are starting to get on my nerves. My Hummer only gets eight miles to the gallon, and I am starting to worry that I once I have the solid gold engine installed it will get even worse. As president do you think you can do anything about it?"
I have put the typo in red so everybody can see.
You can give speeches and take out ads that only affect a particular state. Similarly, some issues are only significant in certain states (farm subsidies, help for seniors, etc.)
It doesn't offend me, but it would cause controversy- I'd recommend changing the name to something else.
Please don't get into a row over this- I just don't want Stardock suffering a PR black eye.
Some people deserve to be offended.
Seriously, if they're going to get in a tiff over the funny name of an organization mirrored directly off the real NAACP, they need to pull their heads out of their asses and see the world, rather than spend all day with their faces glued to teh intarwebz.
If there's one group I really dislike, it's activists who get pissed off over things that don't matter.
