How to lock your computer using Sins of a Solar Empire

Pit an Advent fleet with a Progenitor (Malice) an opposing Advent fleet with a number of Iconus Guardians (More than 5 is ideal). Let the auto casts go off and go read a book, because you can't do anything in game now.

I noticed that the game chugged to hell and back when I played against the Advent last time. I was playing against one AI on hard random in a small random system. He beefed his fleet up to about 2 notches below the max for fleet research, which I also had to do. The game would just crawl, and if our fleets got near each other it just got worse n worse. Eventually, I was forced to beat him down for the good of my computer.

Malice causing massive slowdowns is a known issue. IC was investigating it a while back, and we may see a fix in the upcoming 1.041 patch (or 1.1 if not).
