Can pirates be turned off?

Hi fellow Sinners

I just love this game, but I was just wondering is it possible to turn off the pirates in the game or at least when you attack a pirates stronghold and destroy it the ai should give you a breather :SURPRISED: ?

The reason why I ask is because on normal mode in any of the skirmishes those damn raiders come in with a massive fleet like one of the enemy star nations! not that I am crying mind you because I am really enjoying the game as a whole and I think this is one of those games that is highly addictive. :d

Make sure you update your game. I think the option to turn pirates off was added in 1.03, and the game's currently at 1.04. So if you just installed your game, update! And the first step to curing addiction is admitting you have it.

Hey Ubersmake thanks for the quick tip!
I brought the digital down load copy of Sins so I take for granted that I am already up to date on all software patches.
I am a addict, and I freely admitt it :HOT:

Can the pirates be turned off?

Pirate turn-offs include British frigates, hard-tack, doldrums, marthambles, and scurvy.

Pirate turn-ons include dubloons, parrots, cutlasses, and long walks on the beach at sunset.

Use this information at your own peril.

Its not in the main options, its in the "game options" when you're setting up players in a new game.

Thanks for this Info. I'm a newer player, And have yet to download the new patch. But first I need to finish one game I'm halfway through, because doesn't the new patch prevent any old saved games not to work?

Thanks,

Matt

Noooooo, the RetroPunnery(tm) is spreading!!!

Weirdly, the pirates can't turn the pirates off, but non-pirates can.

You'd think that in the future, pirates would be literate enough to talk properly.

It's a tradition.

Yup, just look at the Church of England. Over 800 years strong, and they've still got it all backwards!
