Yes.

1. You should search forums. All of the information I'm about to give you is already here.

2. Download, read/follow the steps in my guide and you'll be playing together. Done.:)

My guide "Networking and SINS" can be found in several places here:

1. My stickied thread in the "Technical" forum under the GREEN writing in the OP

2. The "Technical FAQ" at the very bottom of the FAQ (make sure you download the SINS-specific guide)

3. Several other threads, but it should be easier to find it in either of the above 2 locations.

One thing that I have noticed that is not mentioned too often is to check that your modem does or does not act as a router as well. This happened to me, I could not figure out what the problem was until I checked the features of the modem I have.

My fix was to enable the "DMZ" option that effectively disabled the router, though this may not be a option for some.

And btw, the_Monk is the "leading expert" on this problem for the sins forums.

Everything you need to know/do is in my SINS guide "Networking and SINS" (see my initial reply to your post).

I read your networking guide, and it said I need to open ports in my router, but it didnt say how exactly to do that.

Actually yes it does. I can't be more router-specific in my guide or it won't be helpful for anyone other than those with a specific router make/model.

I you can't find the "port-forwarding" section on your specific router, either read the manual for your router or click the "help" button when on your router.

All you need to do is forward 6000 and 6112 both as TCP.

In actual fact you can get away only forwarding 6112 TCP so there one easy port to forward it could hardly be easer!
