Do they also aid allies??? prior to 1.04, the AI many times will show up and not fight even when they have been asked to. I am hoping the idea of benefiting from the repair platforms will encourage allies to fight. thoughts?

yes, they repair allies. Even prior to 1.04 they repair allies.

I never play with AI, so I can't answer that part.
