Energy Weapons.

The Advent "Halcyon Carrier" has an ability that reduces the cooldown on energy weapons (effectively increasing the DPS via a faster rate of fire). This is a beautiful thing.

My question is, which Advent weapons count as "energy weapons"?

To the best of my knowledge... the Advent only use a mix of laser and plasma weaponry. Both are energy technically, right? I know for a fact the cooldown buff helps the beam weapons on Capital Ships and Illuminators. I am presuming it helps the smaller rapid fire laser cannons (you know, the little pulse laser things on disciples and defense vessels and every other small ship). But are plasma weapons considered energy or projectile? Do plasma weapons benefit from the cooldown buff?

 

Also, on a separate note... does anyone know if there is something akin to an "Advent F.A.Q." floating around somewhere?

Energy weapons are basically everything for the Advent. If in doubt, just check your ship's statistics towards the bottom while the ship is in range of the aura. It should display "X% increased cool down rate."

Do aura's help allies? This mechanic would make sense if they did - your Advent buddy is gonna love you, but your Vasari mate (with all his phase missiles) not so much.

as far as i know a cease fire (or below) won't get the effect

people forget that every race has 2 main weapons

TEC autogun + rocket
Vasari raygun + missle
Advent beam + plasma

advent = energy dependent thus get's 100% from that buff (my favorite 1 to :) )

vasari are lucky they got enforcers... ray gun gets cooldown decrease

tec are unlucky... only real energygun powerd ship = the kol battleship or cobalt
but then again they got their own cruiser with a lock on ability "akkan + cielo command cruiser"


maybe this will finaly proof the game isnt made 2 spam lrms.... like i hear everyone say on ICO
