Hey, I got mine from NewEgg too. I happened to be ordering some computer parts, and I thought I'd try out Sins because it sounded good, and NewEgg seemed to be the cheapest place to get it..

Congrats! Now just hope you're able to install it. The game appears pretty hit-and-miss on that topic.

Install?

From impulse? Stardock Central?

Or the main cd?

I'm gonna do what I do with anything thats a Digital Download, enter the code in the program, and download using my 8 megs dsl...

The vast majority of users have no issues with installation - but as is the case with everything, out of 200k units there's bound to be some problems :P

Okay it's 3 gigs. Even with my 8 megs dsl (Which is really 6 megs dsl with the node right outside my door, giving me speeds of 8-10), I'll wanna install from cd...

I had it downloaded and up and running in less than a hour on my 8meg line. So i don't see the problem.

Yes, the download is packaged so it's pretty small.

I guess I should mention I'm also buying a few parts to make a tiny kitchen pc.

I already have a 10 inch datalux which I can use as the screen and k/m.

I'm wondering how quickly it'll be forgotten when I get SOASE....
depends, i find that SoaSE allows for a decent amount of cooking time ;), though of course that depends of how much you like burnt food =(

lol i've been known to take showers get dressed and do laundry while in a game of sins. The funny thing is the game progresses so much slower than u would think when you're not sitting right in front of it. Time flys when you're sitting in front of the screen focusing the whole game.

I remember back in beta when the AI barely did anything, someone left the game running overnight while they went to sleep.   I should've saved the resource count screenshot..

Wow, sins doesn't take too long to install does it?

(Yes, it arrived)

I don't know if you are being sarcastic, but for whatever reason, it took a while for it to install off my DVD.

On my 8 meg connection, probably took less to download it from stardock :P

And I was refering to a 3 gig game taking 20 minutes to download....

It's awesome you'll love it.

Start slow - do the tutorials even though nobody likes doing them :o Then start with a small system.

Couple points of advice - turn on the tactical grid and other selections under User Interface. Tried to play in 100% cinematic mode at first and it was.... difficult to say the least!

Good luck and hit us up if you need any pointers!!!
