its approaching the end of the month could we get any updates on 1.03, like maybe a changelog or some progress updates.

Really would like to know if I, and many others, will get a fix for the constant Minidumps in MP games. I have yet to play this game MP because I always get a Minidump. (yes, I sent them to support)

SP works its just boring. :(

-In singleplayer you can accelerate / deccelerate time by pressing the +/- buttons. I'm mentionning it again because this request is coming up a lot even though it was implemented in the v1.02 patch.


Wow. Thank you very much Brad, I really never knew that. I hadn't ever desperately wished that I had it, but now that I know, I shall use it. As for v 1.03, I can not wait. It really does look like an impressive patch and well worth any wait (even though I can't wait, lol). The new game options screen is what I am looking forward too the most.

-Improved Group Phase Jumping for large groups of ships. If the number of ships exceeds a threshold, the group will only wait for 90% of the value of the ships to be ready. The stragglers will follow shortly after.


Thank you so much for putting this in the patch. To be quite honest, it got really annoying. But anyways, keep up the wonderful work and I look forward to anything you guys provide for me within the future. At the rate your going, Sins will be cirtifiably perfect in a couple months, lol.

Wasn't there going to be an update to the diplomacy interface allowing the player more interaction with the AI in sp games?

Any idea when this update will be ready?

I'm really looking forward to this. Especially the AI changes!

Will 1.03 also be a bit easier for graphic mods, i.e. we no longer need to copy the whole textures folder instead of just the replacements?

Whoa- Cannot destroy unbuilt structures? This means a lot for repair bay madness. Then again it improves defenses -alot- in the early game. We'll see. Make sure you can't -target- the structures either otherwise there's going to be a great deal of annoying baiting and that sort of thing.

Ironclad does the actual programming. Starock is the publisher. Starodck and Ironclad work very closely on the game development

99% of the multiplayer crashes are caused by some player running a Mod when the others aren't (the couple of other crashes not caused by this have been fixed AFAIK). v1.03 will include code to check for Mods being used to help warn players against this.

Keep up the great work guys. I really appreciate the communication with the community on giving us a heads up as to what is comming down the pipe. Makes me think that you guys really care about the future of the game:):) Unlike other game developers out there.

The proposed changes look very solid and a great step forward.

two quick questions.

1. Is diplomacy being worked on for single player games? Like to see it a bit easier for players to make allies. One thing i noticed, that we can give the AI's money and gifts, but this has no reflection upon the diplomacy standing. XXX amount of money or resources should give some positive faction.

2. I have been holding back on playing alot more of sins until the expansion comes out. Any rough ETA on it? Mid to late March?

1) Diplomacy will be looked at, as to what the potential changes might be, we don't know :P

2) Typically expansions aren't launched 1.5 months after game release :P Any expansion was said to aim for next winter. If you meant *patch*, then should be soon, definitely March :P

will there be any stat modification for units for balance purposes (increasing cost of specific ships by a tiny fraction..etc or improving the most underused caps: possibly desolator) ??

example of something that might need to be changed: the Devastator (Capitalship_PHASEBATTLESHIP.entity) costs less than any other cap, which is most likely a tiny mistake.

Maybe it's meant to be like that. Who knows, the Kortuls used to be the pride of the Vasari civilization back in the days of the Empire. The Kortuls in the Exodus Fleet(the one that appears in the game) do not have the ground invasion capability that the Kortuls of the day used to have, so maybe the cost dropped.

Or maybe it's just a bug...

i am not so sure you cannot destroy unfinished buildings i mean
is that not a little cheating?
example: if i just one a fleet victory and i decide to attack his planet with my renmants fleet to counter me all he has to do is get some hangers and turrets up
because i cannot destroy them before its completed

AFAIK that only applies to pre-construction ghosts at 0 HP. Once construction begins, they're fair game.

Glad to hear it. This has been irritating me since beta 1. But don't forget the "blockade" exploit where you can prevent an enemy cap ship from retreating by plunking down structures in front of it. This problem would be magnified if you can't destroy them but they still physically impede the progress of ships. I've said it before and I'll say it again: unbuilt structures need to be invisible to everyone but the person who queued them and not capable of blocking ship movement until construction has begun.
