My favorite song. What's yours?

Relient K

when i made up my mind
and my heart along with that
to live not for myself
but yet for God
somebody said
"do you know what you are getting yourself into?"

when i finally ironed out
all of my priorities
and asked God to remove the doubt
that makes me unsure of these
things i ask myself
i ask myself
"do you know what you are getting yourself into?"

i'm getting into you
because you got to me
in a way words can't describe
i'm getting into you
because i've got to be
you're essential to survive
i'm going to love you with my life

when he looked at me and said
"i kind of view you as a son"
and for a second our eyes met
and i met that with a question
"do you know what you are getting yourself into?"

i'm getting into you
because you got to me
in a way words can't describe
i'm getting into you
because i've got to be
you're essential to survive

i'm going to love you with my life

i've been a liar and i'll never amount to
the kind of person you deserve to worship you
you say you will not dwell on what i did but rather what i do you say
"i love you and that's what you are getting yourself into"

i'm getting into you (getting into you)
because you got to me (because you got to me)
in a way words can't describe
i'm getting into you (getting into you)
because i've got to be (because i've got to be)
you're essential to survive
i'm going to love you with my life

i'm getting into you (getting into you)
because you got to me (because you got to me)
in a way words can't describe
i'm getting into you (getting into you)
because i've got to be (because i've got to be)
you're essential to survive
i'm going to love you with my life

you said "i love you and that's what you're getting into"

This is one of the many of my favorite songs. It is called Getting into You by Relient K. If you have your favorite song feel free to post it here.

My favorite song changes fairly regularly, but for right now, it's Me And Emily, by Rachel Proctor

Floorboard's filled with baby toys,
An' empty coke bottles an' coffee cups.
Drivin' through the rain with no radio,
Tryin' not to wake her up.
Cell 'phone says "low battery",
God, what if I break down?
I'm just lookin' for an exit with a lotta lights,
A safe little interstate town.

Just a cheap hotel,
With a single bed,
And cable TV
Is good enough for me an' Emily.

Some day, when she's old enough,
She's gonna start askin' questions about him.
Some kid at school brings his Dad for show an' tell,
An' gets her little mind a-wonderin'
"Where's my Daddy? Do I have one?
"Does he not love me like you do?"
Oh, maybe I'll find someone to love the both of us,
An' I'll tell her when she's old enough to know the truth.

Will it break her heart?
Will she understand,
That I had to leave?
That's what was best for me an' Emily.

That house was never clean enough
his dinner never warm enough.
Nothing I did was ever good enough to make him happy.
So, I guess, he gave me what he thought I deserved,
But it would kill me if he ever raised his hand to her.

Big rigs are throwin' rain on my windshield,
An' I feel like they're laughin' at me.
Fin'lly the storm is lettin' up,
An' the mornin' is breakin' free.

It's a brand new day,
It's a second chance.
Yesterday is just a memory,
For me an' Emily.
Ah.

Floorboard is filled with baby toys,
An' empty coke bottles an' coffee cups.
Least there's one good thing that he gave me,
An' she's startin' to wake up.

That's a wonderful song. I love it!

Carebear, I love Reliant K's new CD. My favorite country song is "Whiskey Lullaby" I forget the artists right now, it's a duet.

My fav rock/pop songs right now are..... Pride War by Further Seems Forever, My Heartstrings Come Undone by Daemon Hunter, The Ponytail Parade by Emery, and.... Let it Burn, by Usher.

I have ...strange... music tastes

Peace,

Hey there's nothing wrong with rap and hip-hop. Some of it is kinda dumb, but not all of it. I'm more of a rock type person myslef. And I basically will listen to everything including classical music. I think the only kind I don't listen to is opera!! How can people stand that stuff? lol.

Moves around a lot, but right now - Cocaine Blues, Johnny Cash....
or the old van cliburn recording from the russian competition where he played the Rachmoninov #2 concerto, especially the allegro at the beggining.

P.S. And what's wrong with opera? Puccini and bizet rock, and even wagner had his good bits.....once you sorted through the other 30 hours or so.....

Without a doubt my favorite song of all time is "Natural Science" by Rush. Brilliant lyrically, and just as brilliant musically, a ten minute epic that blows me away every time I listen to it. Second place is a tough one to fill. There are a couple songs that could fit that spot. It is a close tie between "Something from Nothing" by Fates Warning or "Blackwater Park" by Opeth. "Something from Nothing" is pure genius, slowly building, never afraid to have full minutes of atmospheric sounds to build up to the eruption of guitars. And "Blackwater Park", well, what can I say. Just about one of the most intense and brutal songs I have ever listened to (not just musically, but the whole, oppressive feel of the song) it just gives me chills. A true masterpiece of metal.

Voices, by Dream Theatre.... or possibly To Live is to Die, by Metallica.... or Time by Pink Floyd... or Unity, by Operation Ivy... or Face It, and Kinder Words, by the MIghty Mighty Bosstones... or Dear Mama, by Tupac... or Fear of Falling, by the Badlees, or Brother John by Blues Traveler... or even Chase the Sun by The Supertones.....
Picking just 1 song is impossible for me! I'm such a music junkie... I can't claim any favorite "song" because it's plural for me, and I spread my taste over almost all forms of music I'm not much of a country fan though.... cept for Johny Cash.... Gotta love Cash...

Ohh, good song. But remember, the band has made a big deal of the fact that it is Dream Theater!

I could throw a bunch of other great tunes out there such as "!" by Pain of Salvation, "Metropolis Pt. I" by Dream Theater, "Summerland" by King's X, "Divine Wings of Tragedy" by Symphony X, "Another Dimension" by LTE, and on and on and on. But I don't know if they would quite count up in the top.

Leaves are falling all around,

It's time I was on my way.

Thanks to you, I'm much obliged

For such a pleasant stay.

But now it's time for me to go,

The autumn moon lights my way.

For now I smell the rain,

And with it pain,

And it's headed my way

. Ah, sometimes I grow so tired,

But I know I've got one thing I got to do,

Ramble On,

And now's the time, the time is now

To sing my song.

I'm goin' 'round the world,

I got to find my girl, on my way.

I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,

Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Got no time to for spreadin' roots,

The time has come to be gone.

And tho' our health we drank a thousand times,

It's time to Ramble On.

Ramble On,

And now's the time, the time is now

To sing my song.

I'm goin' 'round the world,

I got to find my girl, on my way.

I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,

Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

I ain't tellin' no lie.

Mine's a tale that can't be told,

My freedom I hold dear;

How years ago in days of old

When magic filled the air,

T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor

I met a girl so fair,

But Gollum, and the evil one crept up

And slipped away with her.

Her, her....yea.

Ain't nothing I can do, no.

Ramble On,

And now's the time, the time is now

To sing my song.

I'm goin' 'round the world,

I got to find my girl, on my way.

I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,

Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Gonna ramble on, sing my song

Gotta keep-a-searchin' for my baby...

Gonna work my way, round the world

I can't stop this feelin' in my heart

Gotta keep searchin' for my baby

I can't find my bluebird!

I'd listen to my bluebird sing but I can't find my blue bird

A-keep-a ramblin' baby...
