AI ever use AAM

Does the AI ever use AAM? Because in all my games, no AI player has ever used them. In my last one, I even traded all my techs to my enimy (I was at war w/ them at the time too) and they never even built one (that I saw LOL ). Is this just a coincidence or what?

Actually, I've seen the A.I. use AMM...in my current game the Altarians seem to have them all over the place. Part of it might have to do with the difficulty setting as I'm currently playing on "painful".

I've seen them, but never seen them used. The one time I saw one coming towards me I ran a star fighter out to shoot it since it was unescorted.

They were used against me, in a stack of computer ships. The Fates were with me, as the enemy died and I survived.

AI doesn't use them on lower levels. They can be pretty nasty.

Drengin used an AMM against one of my dreadnoughts in last game (Crippling diff level). No kill though, my 'noughts were pretty tough LOL
