Space shark removal

Does anybody know how to remove the space shark from the game? I find it to be nothing other than an annoyance. I don't think it adds anything to the game. I've been playing the same game in a large galaxy for a couple days now. I've searched every anomyly on the map and now the game is just randomly generating space sharks. So if somebody could point me to a mod that removes them, or tell me how to remove them, I would very much appriciate it.

They can come in very handy as said in another post that I today went through. there is one way to get rid of them in the game while weaking your enemy, if one is following your ship send your ship to a sector of a race you dont like and use it to destroy there ships and starbases plus they will destroy it after attacking it enough. Put your ship on the other side of the enemy ship or starbase and it will destroy it to get to you, do the same with enemy ships.

That wasn't really the answer I was looking for. My problem wasn't so much with the survey ships uncovering them and then having to run away. It was more about the game just randomly spawning them right next to my stars and starbases. But anyway, I figured out how to remove them myself, so nevermind.

Can you be a little more specific, for those of us, such as myself, who are brand new to Gal Civ? The instructions:

"Use note pad or galciv writer to alter the data folder"

... means nothing to me.

I think the problem should be solved if you delete the Expansion01Anom -file in your GalCiv/Data folder - it contains nothing but the shark-anomaly.

(Don't forget to make a backup copy if you ever want to face the shark again)
