crashing problem and cd key

hello all im having prolems.. when i play any map bigger than the large the game crashes when there is alot of activity and when i tryed to down load the patch i could not find my cd key
i own the cd if any one wants i can give the number on the cd under the "g" rating can any one help or tell me if there is a way i can look on my hard drive for the key???

oh and i have 8mb of video ram 256 mem on a 600mhs pentium all drivers updated..

Well, If you have already entered the CD key on your computer, you should be able to find it in the registry.

BTW, I fear that your system specs are a bit lower for bigger maps. Turns will take lots of time.

It isn't only the video card that can be a bootleneck. The CPU can be too. For info, gigantic is 28x28 when tiny is 4x4. So you need CPU when the AI have lots of thing to do (due to the number of planets they have or the fleets that are fighting)

I mean the registry of windows, the one accessible with regedit. And data should be found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\stardock and the associated subfolders.

thezerg, I played gigantic on a older machine in the past.

The main bottleneck was autosave. If you turn autosave and animations of you maybe ok with the gigantic map.
