Strategy First going bankrupt?

Looks like the publisher of Galactic Civilizations is going bankrupt. Hope Stardock got some money from retail sales of the game.

Aside from the approximate total of $4 million USD owed to various investors, Strategy First's biggest debt is the $1.7 million USD in royalties owed to game developers around the world.

I'm guessing their lawyer will tell them not to say anything publicly... That seems to be the way these days...

Well not in our case. ;)

Yes, SFI owes us a lot of back royalties.  Thankfully, direct sales saved the day for us.  If it weren't for direct sales of the game and Altarian Prophecy this site would likely be a 404 now.

Very good to hear!!! When I purchase AP I will definitely use the direct sales route.

Good to hear Frogboy.. I was worried for a bit there myself. :D I never was this loyal to a game company as I am yours. :CONGRAT:

If I get off my lazy butt I will help you more with the direct sales at my site. I need to create the promotional links. :p

I am wondering about some games available with totalgaming.net : who get the royalty for Disciple II, ORB, celtic which are published by SFI?

That is good news frogboy, and the reason I havn't bought AP already is because I'm waiting for my birthday and I asked for it as a birthday present. (I'm turning fifteen.)

Happy Birthday!

Yet more proof that Stardock games appeal to all ages. You're almost 15 and I'm over 50, and we share the opinion that GC is our favorite game.

Thanks, that actually means quite a bit to me, too. I hope you do have a very happy birthday and get the AP that you want. With a full time job and a family I can't claim to be the best or most experienced gamer out there, but I do know that Stardock makes great games, supports their games very well, and provides, through these forums, a chance to connect with other people who enjoy the same things.

Probably my favorite thing about galciv. Without these forums, and the great community here, I never would have been playing as long as I have.

Happy Birthday John.. I am almost 50 myself.. I love Stardock because of their devotion to the player. I enjoy meeting everyone in these forums myself. Both of you guys hit on the reasons I am in here. I run my website for the same reasons.

I have to agree Littlewotts, one of the reasons I keep playing Galciv is because of the wonderful community like the Great people in these forums. Heck you rarely see a flame war of any kind.. Not common in any forums. :)
