Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

  

 

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

Sort of a Bump as well as an Update. I plan to finish up some minor things that could use a touch up and then I was planning on a general release for this ship. I plan to build a completely new model for the Mod, so I want to give the community something to play with.

Hello,

Can you tell me what you did to make the ship and put it into the game? Did you model it in 3d Max? How do you import the model and textures from your ship into the game. This will help me alot in figuring out how to make a Robotech mod. Thanks!

In galciv2 it seemed pretty easy to put new ships in. I am wondering if it is the same for sins? Will I need to convert my model to another file format etc?

I use Adobe CS3 and 3D Max 8.

it'll take a lot to tell you how I got this model ingame. It required several test phases to get it to where you see it now. Needless to say, the best thing you could do is check out this thread for how to export and everything.

where is the textures? you could easily steal realistic textures from screen caps of episodes and pics off the net. if you need any 3d models, I should be able to make them for most ships.

?? what do you mean where are the textures? they are on the model. The model Im using is that of Major A Payne from the Srat Trek Armada/Star Wars EaW scene. All the texture stuff is his and what not.

I'm also willing to offer my services to this mod.

My introductory offer is to go through my collection of episodes, identify some moments of good sounds for the various ships, record them in whatever format Sins likes, and send them to you. I figured it would be cool to actually hear the voice of Caldwell or Ellis when you command them around your planets, and hearing the railguns firing, etc when going into battle.

I figured I'd start out small, just look at the 304s and 302s, the two ships I know you're already working on. Is that agreeable?

Awesome, sounds good. Dont forget the guy that was in charge of the Prometheus, as we as the Colonel that was in charge of the Odyssey, just to have some more voices. lol. but yeh, the help is greatly appreciated.

OMG!! I just got the game not too long ago and iv been searchin for a mod like this to no avail until now. How long have you been working on this i have to wonder. So next i have to wonder when is this going to be completed do you estimate? that and what do the wrath and replicator ships look like?? and do you have a working mod for this yet, cause completed or not im itchin to play.

I don't know if this means anything to you, but I was browsing this forum last night to learn more about Sins of a Solar Empire, and after I saw your stargate mod for it, I finally decided to get the game.

And I love it. Now I just need your mod to finish the experience >:D

I haven't read your whole thread yet. I like stargate atlantis, and I have some ideas for your mod.

It always seemed strange how culture works in sins by colored lines and affecting allegiance. it seems a lot of gameplay can be exploited from this feature. Change culture to represent ground forces using the stargate to attack other planets. Home planets have get an Iris upgrade, planets can have an option to bury or unbury their stargate, meaning no trade value, but no threat of attack via stargate. only spacecraft can attack those planets.

Or you can keep culture as culture and say that the planets are either rebelling against the Wraith or becoming Wraith worshipers.

This is a definite possibility, I havent been able to work everything out yet.

amazing work thus far. im impressed with the ships. however i have to ask now, how did you change the mesh's for the ships to, or rather how did you change them from what they were to the current ships? Iv wanted to impliment the ability to make my ships modles look different in working with my own mod, but i always get stopped there. do you make them in some external program or do you take them from somewhere, and if so where? sorry about the questionare, i realize your busy with this but i would love to make a mod somewhat similar to this with nice ships like this. but im looking forward to a release of this mod.

Unfortunately, my modding experience is mostly limited to level design in Source games. I intend to look into the whole modelling and animation area soon though.

I am currently using 3ds Max 7 to do all my modding for Sins. Its a great program, for textures I am using Photoshop CS2.

I'd be more then happy to help you out, in any way i can. I may not be able to model the ships for you but i can however make designs for new ones. hell even if you just want someone else to test what ya got so far, just lemmie know. cause id love to see this mod up, running, and finished. and trust, i have a lot of time on my hands so id love something to do too...plus im a huge fan of the series, so i wanna see this through to its completion. my aim is Tsubasa no Akari. probibly easiest to contact me that way. hope to hear from ya.
