Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

  

 

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

thats a nice 304 but the thing i thing is wrong with it is the texture of it it needs to be a bit more greyer i reckon also the top part of the 304 isn't smoth

i don't mean to complain or anything just don't know if you intended to change these things

i just thought of another reason you couldnt add the ori to the mod, at least not accurately, as the ori ships persistenly massacre all other ships with asgard quality sheilding or not

The mesh is mostly complete, there will be nothing else added to it. All the extra little details are going to be on the textures as I finalize them. The game can only handle a certain amount of polies, and I dont want to stress test that number just yet. The textures only look really light because of the environment, I checked it out, and the other environments make it look different.

At the moment, no. I personally think it would be to hard to incorporate, but I could be wrong as I havent looking into the files fully.

Hi this is my first post. Ive been keeping an eye on this mod for a few weeks now and i gotta say it looks awesome, lovin the Posiedon class carrier. Quick question though if one of the races is completed before the others will it be released as a sort of beta or will it all be released as one mod?

Hello, I was thinking about the 304's nuke ability and maybe to balance it a bit you could give the wraith/reps a ability to not beam aboard nuke for 15-30sec. with a 5-10min. cooldown. You could say its a jamming signal and it takes 15-30secs to hack.

Anyway just wanted to add that- Also will the cap. ships have nuke beaming because if they don't it would kinda be silly to make some advanced warship the isn't as powerful as a heavy cruiser

O (last thing..... really) I think it would be a really good idea to have cap ships 5+ have like 5% health if a nuke is beamed aboard - you could say that its such an advanced ship it made a shield around the blast at the last moment- so its still badly damaged but you don't lose that cap ship you have been training btw the blast is inside so it would be great if it could keep shields :)

Hi there, just got the game last week and noticed this mod today... Ace!
I havent read the whole thread yet so i dont know if it has been mentioned before but i was just wondering what you think of this.
Keeping with the series as you can probably remember the asgard gave up their lives and gave over their technology to us fellow earthlings. Now as you can see there is a catch there because to have those wonderful beam weapons the asgard race has to die.
Now.. What i was wondering was avoiding having the asgard as a playable character (I know, i can almost hear the shreiks of horror but bare with me a sec) as have them running as rebels dotted around the map.
This means (keeping with the series) Earth weaponry can start off as gatling guns, rockets and bombs etc, then a research upgrade can unlock asgard weaponry thus removing the asgards from gameplay.
You could also advance this and say ok then, the asgards while rebels dont attack earth forces but attack others (in form with the protected planets treaty) and another research point can be added to get the asgards to rise up against the other players ... kind of like the industrial rebellion research in sose (TEC) or help you at a specific point in space for a certain amount of time (maybe capital ship ability).

Anyway i will stop babbling and i have to say i am really looking forward to this mod... Unfortunately im no programmer or photoshop wiz otherwise i would love to help you out.

p.s. ditto with the wraith ... my reason being they were never a single force just scavengers now you could have certain playable wraith factions like the forces of daniel a wraith alliance etc and have special abilities and research mimicking the above. There's some ideas for you anyway.

To be honest I like the idea. At least as far as the Asgard is concerned. The Wraith are bigger players than the Asgard ever were in SG-1 really, they were more or less based around threats than an actual race in the galaxy, they simply had to dedicate too many resources and ships to fighting the Replicators in their own galaxy.

So I think it would be a good idea to make the Asgard like rebels, but I'd think it'd be more interesting if you could have an ability to call them to certain planets (to represent the treaty) and then they pop in, handle the attacking fleet, and then hightail it out of there.

It could be like a research into the Planet Protection Treaty. 1st would be say... 50 ship pop of Asgard, then 150, then 250, then you lose the ability but gain the Asgard beam weapons and possibly some other stuff.

Oh and Eomega, the 304 looks absolutely beautiful mate, cheers. And let me know if you want me to change the final banner. ^^

Ok just to add to my post earlier (If anyone read it (you'll like the ideas)) - I was thinking about how there have been a lot of ships in stargate that have taken large amounts of damage caused by the blast wave from a ship exploding, anyway I thought it might be cool to have some type of damage be done to all (even ally) ships near by an exploding one-

If you like this idea you could possibly do this by having all (or just larger) ships have a passive ability that when they die to make a low damage wave in a large radius around them and a second high damage wave in a small radius around them (Closer you are more damage you take)

Btw whats the difference between the normal bc304 and the phoenix?

well technically you dont have to try to *not* add a race...


its a fact proven* by leading scientific minds** that the universe will implode into a voilent hell storm if the Asgard or Wraith are discluded from this mod.

I just looked at the sci-fi site and noticed the poster for Atlantis had Woolsey in the group instead of Col. Carter (see photo) :)

I hope it doesn't mean anything bad for Samantha...

I wouldnt make it a one hit kill for all ships maybe a one hit kill for below lvl five capitals and other ships but super strong capitals maybe it should just take away like 95/100 of there healthI disagree. The nuke is being beamed straight into their engine rooms and/or hangar. The regular nuke explosion would be enough to destroy the ship. But the chain explosions caused by the fuel throughout the ship would be more than enough to destroy the ship. That's also why you see the Daedalus targeting Hive ship Hangar bays.


I disagree again. I understand the science behind but i dont think it should be one hit kill for everything because that would make battles dumb and making strong ships stupid because you spend all your time making a super strong ship then your in a battle your shields are down and some random low ass capital ship destroys you and you have to start over again. I understand how it makes it realistic and stuff but it would make battle tedious because there would be no point to fight as soon as the shields are down you nuke them and the end.

the star wars mod has released a king of alpha thing with the ships it has done and it seems to have upped the fan base maybe youy should too. Just a thought.

right now there isnt enough of one race or anything like that to even think of releasing a beta, it wouldnt make sense at this point. I dont want to sound like an arse about this, but that is the star wars mod, its their decision to release the material they have done so far, right now we dont have enough ingame yet to make anything enjoyable. Besides I can see some definite cons to doing a beta release, such as extra balancing of new units/races to the stock ones, and that just doesnt seem logical.

Half our models arent even fully dressed yet, and not to mention our new effects we are looking into doing once Derbal gets back from vacation. A lot is still in the works, and until we get everything sorted out, there is no possibility, at this point, of a beta release ever coming out.
