OUR STAR, SOL. Our Life Giver.

Our Life TAKER.

I know most of us watch space week, and "The Universe" on Tuesdays, and read books on science and the Universe, so we all know lots about the Universe.

However, this game has brought me even closer to our star. Just a few minutes ago I was sitting with my dogs on the couch and we were looking at the yellow behemoth as it shone through the drapes in the afternoon sky. I said, "Yes boys, that is the thing that gave you, me and mommy and grandma life!" I know that sounds wierd, we all talk to our dogs, and I have a lack of sleep due to this game and my lack of will powe. But, it's kinda cool to think about even more when you look at that sucker. Floating out there. In deep space. Churning. Boiling. Reacting. Cycling. Ahhhh, the cycle of life.

To add to this, for those that didnt know, this is a composite image of all the known galaxies in the Universe.

The galaxies create a web of known matter, which is surrounded by "dark matter" that holds each galaxy together by pressure. It's almost like blowing up a balloon with stuff in it, and the stuff floating aound inside of it. expansion-wise, anyone want to add some facts?

Look!

more scale, like the video above.

I'm reading a book right now that actually shows images of the surface of this star. I dont understand why those specific images are not on the internet.... Like I said, It's the only star that we have taken images of it's surface other than our own star. YOu know what, hang on, I'm gonna take pics of the images with my camera....gimme a minute...
