Winning is underwhelming

Winning is underwhelming

Now don't get me wrong. I love the game and I am certainly enjoying it. But are the wins not just a little underwhelming? You get a little box pop up and mention casually that you've won. Oh and by the way don't forget to put the cat out.

I wondered if peeps agreed a little fanfare would not go amiss. Perhaps something more like in Galactic Civilisations were you get a 10 second video that just makes you feel good about the last 3 hours battling. They could hire an actor to voice over a few win conditions (James earl Jones would be nice if he's still alive?). I'm sure such a slight boost could be distributed through Stardock and require no more then a few dozen Mb at most.

Some stupid anecdote about the most overrated game of all time

For godsakes there are people screaming their lungs out on this forum about "Fix x" or "Fix y" and you guys are fixated on voice acting.

Maybe they don't believe X or Y is broken.

IC has already mentioned they're planning on bringing the voice talent back in for battle chatter, so hey.

Fallout made #4 on the list of top games of all time produced by PC Gamer in 2001. It made #5 on the IGN list of the top 25 PC games of all time (IGN's list), and is usually placed in similar lists. It also won the award of "RPG of the Year" from GameSpot, and has since been inducted into their "Greatest Games of All Time" list.[4] Fallout made #55 on IGN's 2005 top 100 games of all time,[5] and #33 on IGN's 2007 top 100 games of all time.[6] It is notable that all review scores for Fallout are consistently high and none are lower than an 8, with the only criticism involving its graphics.

I see your opinion goes very well with reality. Alot of people thinks it's awesome, you don't so it must be overrated. Even so, you missed the point about what voice acting added to that overrated game. Maybe this comparison is bad, I don't know, but go watch a scary movie with mute on.

Also, I never said voice acting was needed or not needed, I just thought it wouldn't be waste.

Yeeey <3!

These forums are interesting in that the balance between conservatives (everything is fine the way it is) and the many assorted liberals (game too slow! Game too fast! Flak OP! Fighter OP!) are so unbalanced. So the conservatives have to work extra hard to get their point across. Hehehe, poor fellas.

OT: I thought all the ending sequences in any 4X game except Master of Orion 2 were dull. Turning into a ball of light? Bleh. Watching a boring parade? Bleh. Watching a Planet Destroyer rip a planet in half with a giant superlaser? Wooo!

Proposal: Make the ending sequence be a dozen half-naked women dancing to the tune of "War" by Edwin Starr.

I agree 100% ...It would be a nice touch at the end of the game...If your time is to valuable just press the Esc key and dont watch!

I didn't read all of the replies, but yes there should be a better ending and you should be able to unlock some cool features.

Oh come now. This type of trolling is not welcome.

People are just saying that it would be nice to have a more substantial ending for the game when you win. It's sort of a valid one. They're just saying that a substantial ending would be a nice addition, not that it's vital.

Take your trolling elsewhere please.

my suggestion:
if you REALLY want this sort of thing, make your own epic cinematic ending doing your own voiceovers and send it to em! im sure they will be more than happy to incorporate it if it is a decent one :)
