My Space is tooo dark!!

Hi, played the beta several times and had an Orange "Homeworldish" background and all was fine. When I play the finished SINS now I always get a Space background thats "realistic" and too dark. I really miss the old orange space background, is there any way to get it back?

there are only 6 type of backgrounds and one is considered a deep space background, original files i believe their's one blue, one organgish, one red, one green, and one black/white. That is pretty much all their is as far as backgrounds go and they are picked at random and use different positions on the same texture, so you can start a game multiple times with the same texture depending how unlucky you are.

Never fear though I have a mod in the works to provide 3 new star colors, and a total of around 42 backgrounds ranging from, 6 blue, 6 green, 6 yellow, 6 red, 6 white, 6 violet, 6 aqua. First release will probably have just 24 backgrounds with the default star colors though. If you interested keep an eye on the Sins Enhanced - Sky Box Edition thread in the modding forums where i will be posting ingame screenshots as i implement the textures in the game. (one of the later posts in the thread there's 2 screenshots of one of the blue backgrounds that i tested around with last night, which there's more to come in post #1 of thread)

Make sure you haven't "use colourized skyboxes" in the effect options unchecked.

Which I have, as space is a dark nasty place!

You can also tweak the gamma setting in the Video options. That will brighten up everything.

If you just keep toggling the coloured skyboxes button, it randomly cylces the backgrounds, I think, making it easy to change the colour of space any time you like.
