Weird question: Can you choose the portrait of your commander (you)?

In most games like Sword of the Stars you get to choose your portrait from a large variety (both male and female). Can you do this in Sins? Also are all voices in the game male or do they have optionable female voices as well? One thing I hate about space games in general is overmasculinity. It's more ridiculous than anything else.

This doesn't entirely answer my question. I want to order the game (CE) but I'm unsure yet.

Can we choose any female portraits?
Are there any female voices in the game?

Those are the main issues right now for me

To answer the OP questions...
Yes you can. Given the heavily mod oriented nature of this title you can do that plus a whole lot more. If you doubt me, just look in the modding forums at all the major projects already under way.

You can choose your portraits, it was revealed in an irc discussion I believe.
