Math is a Waste of Time

I never write about anything deep or meaningful...

Yet another mindless blurb by the Cedarbird. Sorry about that.

So, I just took my four hour Math final in a mere three hours. Yay for me. Meh.
I don't know, I'm a broadcasting major, and they made me take Statistics. I asked, pleaded, begged both my teacher and her aid for an example concerning when a radio deejay will ever need to hypothesis test between the standard deviations of two or more populations. You know what they both said? "Never."

Why did I need to take that class? Waste of time, if you ask me. but it's over now, and for better or worse, I will never have to touch a math textbook as long as I live. Now all I need to do is wait and see if I kept my grade high enough to keep my scholarship. All I know is that I'd better stay with this major, because I am NOT taking another math class. Grr.

When I started college, someone gave me the best description of college I'd ever heard...

"College is about people holding up rings, and students jumping through them.  It basically doesn't matter what ring it is or how many times you have to jump through it, but if you don't jump through all the others, you don't get to jump through the last one."

Congratulations for making it through another ring!!!!!

Well now you can say you have a well-rounded education.

I said the same thing...however, I'm a zoology major and statistics, calculus and physics are actually used.  So I'm kinda screwed...I can't even get angry because that crap is actually necessary.

I'm taking stats next semester...can't be any worse than calculus(which I aced. )  so I'm not too worried.  A 4 hour exam sounds nuts though.  I've only had 2 hour exams here, but I'm usually done within an hour aside from my chem exams which I try and take great care with because it's super easy to mess up.

I have 1 exam left.   How goes your progress?

I have four exams left. Comm 1560 (Broadcasting=cakewalk!) Comm 1010 (not too hard) Social Dance, and University 1000. Please don't get me started on that one.
Stats isn't that bad, the problems just take forever to do. At least I'm done now.

Thanks Parated.

That would be if I remember anything I wrote down today. Which I probably won't.

Social dance? That sounds like a hokey pokey class. ;)

You'd be surprised where life takes you after college.  It's not always what you expect, and some of that useless fluff you had this semester may come back to help you out later on.  I'm sure being a radio DJ seems like a sure-bet right now, but you've got another 3+ years to go and who knows what will change.

Don't count that stat class out yet

For future reference, there's nothing more attractive than a guy who can tango with me. At least it's some sort of exercise...have to avoid that freshman fifteen.

So bite me. Jerk. ;)

Very true.  While your goal today is broadcasting, that may change in 10 years. College is not so much about learning all you need to know to suceed, but in teaching you how to learn it on your own.

It's your own fault for posting such hillarious comics, now I read them even without you.

If nothing else, some of those classes might just help you win in a game of Trival Pursuit!! ;~D

I always knew that class on Contemporary authors would help me with trivia. ;)

Nope. Not gonna change. I'm way too set in my ways to change. And even if I start to get bored with it, which I won't, I will never change my major because that would involve A) More time in school.
B) More math classes
C) More time in math school classes.

Ummm...no.

Well no erratic behavior, no foaming at the mouth, I have complete control over my nervous system. Also, no recent animal bites. :) Yeah, I'm good.

Especially me. But I'm over it. Now I just need to sell my book to some poor sucker. I ended up with an A in the class, though!!!
