the "Ping Pong" game of Sins

This was a pretty energized game between myself and ron. It ended with a concrete victory for me, but there were several points in which Ron might have turned the tide, I'm sad that we'll never know

anyway I used extreme mobility and the proximity of Ron's two most important planets (his volc and homeworld) to send small strike forces back and forth, its a strong argument in favor of small, quantified forces compromised of a couple ships when facing groups of caps, rather than head on combined force tactics. anyway my superior mobility allowed me to threaten both planets and to get away to the other planet while Ron's hulking ships had to move in wide arcs.

I did use my caps, but sparingly. mostly they were heavy hitters that I would play wackamole with, they would hit when appropriate, but not a second before. too delicate to risk, too strong to not use.

anyway the game was over as soon as I brought in the heavy hitters and the missile backup. I had to "ping pong", as ron refered to it, his forces away so that I could get my forces into position to remove his PJIs and his healing stations (really what provoked me to come out of my shell) so I decimated Rons forces (one cap came a bit early, but in the end the DPS I was doing means it wouldnt have made a difference). Normally I would have been content to sit there, but its late for me and Ron wanted to run, so I gunned it for his HW and took it using a small strike force of siege frigs while my remaining forces engaged what he was newly constructing.

oh, and I forgot to mention: the center dead asteroid was a crux of the battlefield. it was where I staged most of my raids (between it and the sun), had I not had the dead asteroid hitting the volc would have been neigh... well a bit harder. also: had Ron had the asteroid, and could hold it, he would have been in a prime position to stage strong attacks or small raids on my two most important planets (HW and ice planet) although it would have been slightly different, as they were not adjacent.

all in all a GREAT game, is definately worth watching.

commentary on the game would be much appreciated, especially with regards to how you think the game would have turned out had x, y or z not happened, and how my strategy and Ron's strategies are good/bad.

Drop it in your replay folder, then load it up in sins.

Play a game with me instead? (BTW, in replays you can increase the speed a lot, I think 8X is the cap...)

Tomorrow is the tourny, and I'm working out till then, sooo... maybe later this weekend, depends on my plans(or lack thereof).

Plus, I'm scared to play with good people.

I might sound stupid for saying this but, once I download it, where do I save the replay so I can actually watch it?
