Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Slowburn?  None of your snarky choice words should include:  derriere, guido, bungling, douchebaguette or incontinent.  Otherwise you are under mouse arrest.  SNAFU.

I may have to make up some new words to do justice to the gimagnitude of the florkuation. Face it, this patch splubbers on an entirely inventuous new galactitude.

There is a familiar name seeking his third 1st place.  Three days, over a million.  All work, no talk.

I'm actually quite suprised that nobody has bumped me out of 1st place by now. I'm tired of carrying this crushing responsibility. It is time for the news media to start camping out in front of someone else's house for a change. I will miss the groupies, though........

Hey KP I FINALLY finished my game as a Kzinti. I guess I'm official now.

Damn, almost sneaked in without being noticed :) Anyway, now that the natural order of the Meta and Altmeta has been restored, I can break wind silence...

Snarkotamus has only got himself (and ClanLindsey) to blame though - all those helpful tips they share in the Twighlight Pub made a very good basis for the 3-4 day million point game formula. A few more refinements still to be tried - but I am quite happy with a 4 year 1.5M game in which there was no economy boom and only 5 economy resources in the galaxy.

Congrats Captain Yar!   Good to see First Tiger get a victory under his belt.  :D

Welcome back Mag.  Been watching your recent scores, and definitely good to see you around these part again. :)

Snark, you're not going to stand for your #1 spot being usurped are you!?

One of my other characters will make it up to the top eventually. I think Mag deserves the spotlight for a while. It will be nice to be able to walk down to the corner market without being hounded by the autograph-seekers, or open a window at night with no fear of the blinding array of flashbulbs.

"let there be light"...light was good and Mag seperated the light from the darkness.

Didn't mean to blow your cover.  Your campaign was must see.  Well done.

Did some one call? Oh it's just you all. Well while I'm here, I might has well say something nice, you know being good and all has it's perks!

@ Magunmanic, I was wondering I has going to get bumped from first place in AltMeta so good job and it's nice to see more players too even tho their not in my empire.

Jedi Master Yoda had a vision that ToE dosen't like it when WE take 2nd place from them in AltaMeta every two weeks.

We are still missinq those merchants and now we have more merchants missing.  I think it's pirates somewhere between your space and my space.

That's pretty much how my games for score go, I just haven't been able to get a million points out of one....yet.

Welcome to another new warrior, Fildor!  Show no mercy to the foes of the Kzinti!

Welcome back again Seth. ;)

Willy, it takes a lot of work for a million-pointer, but I'm sure you can do it.  Now do you actually WANT to take the time is the question, hehe.  It's pretty tedious, but the pay-off is nice!

Yup. An econ boom helped, but concentrating on my military VERY early, to the exclusion of all else, did the trick.

It's dreadful work without any margin for "fun" like leaving a particularly furry minor race alive. You need their capital. And their econ capital. (which tech you just happened to drop at their doorstep, gift wrap and all)

I'm currently dragging my feet through another game but pressing that turn button is starting to take an act of will because I know that only more work is waiting on the other side. =P

Can be done? It has. Is it worth the effort...? It's your time. =) Oh, I'm not trying to discourage you or anything like that. If you have the required degree of stubbornness, nothing anyone could do or say would. =P

My last game brought up an issue of tedium in regards to upgrading ships. I built nothing but tiny blank hulls and had them fleet at a rally point near my SCC. Here I would upgrade them into what I wanted them to be. Contructers, Frieghters, Colony Ships, whatever. I got to the point where I was upgrading over 100 ships each turn. Here's how I was doing it.

Click on fleet, click on ship, click on detail, click on upgrade, click on what I wanted to upgrade it to, click on upgrade, click on next ship in the fleet, rinse and repeat for every ship in the fleet.

Is there a faster way to do this? Is there an upgrade fleet option? I know, I know, after 2 years of play GC2, I should know this, but I've never upgraded ships to the extent that I did in my last game.

Above the shiptype selection window there is a small tick box: Upgrade all ships of this class.

I didn't find it at first, either, but I wrote a keyboard macro to do the clickeroo for me. Although the tickbox is faster, I gotta admit...

Of course, that only works on all blank molds but *shrug*.

Barring that, an Autohotkey macro. Autohotkey.com

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I knew about the all ships tickbox, but I really only want to upgrade the ships that have fleeted, not the the ones in transit. Oh well. I like your idea about a keyboard macro though.

You may want to consider making a bunch of ship classes that are the same, then using the global commands to switch production between them every few turns. Switch from building Blank 03 to Blank 04 once you've built a hundred or so. Then when most of them have made it to the rally point, you can mass upgrade the Blank 03 model. Of course, by then you might be building Blank 15 model ships, but it would help some. This method might also leave you with some unconverted ships mixed in with the upgraded ones due to differences in transit time, but later mass upgrades will catch them or you can hunt manually.
