Restart issue?

I just finished a game in a huge galaxy, using 9.033. I noticed one thing that I do not remember seeing a post on. The influence graph showed a dip whenever I restarted a game after having quit for a while. It appeared to have no impact on game play. But it was strange at the end of the game when looking at the influence graph and being able to see everytime I restarted. I also noticed on restart a sector with no colonized planets showed zero influence right after a restart, but on the next turn the there was influence in the sector.

This is the first game I actually had other races give me $ just because I was so far ahead. This is a radical, and nice, improvement over certain other games.

I've noticed that dip also on beta 5C. It seems to affect the alien races as well as the player.

There is quite a bit of weirdness that happens whenever you restore a game. It seems like the first two or three turns, the game just isn;t all there. If you watch the influence colroation on the map, yours will be at almost nothing until the end of the second turn. Perhaps this is because it is calculated as a multi-turn thread or something?
