Travel to Distant Stars

Okay, I feel like a fool. I research long range jumps, but my ships still won't travel to distant stars (playing as either TEC or Vasari). For example, in Systems of War, I try to travel to Sheliak (love the name) -- highlight my ships, right click on the star Sheliak, and my ships just sit there. What simple thing have I missed? Thanks in advance!

I have the same case,I can't jump although I'm at the star. What should I do, any suggestions?
