Little Red Dot

So, I was wondering what the little red dot with a while circle around it is for when you zoom in on a ship? It hovers above the ship and moves in a weird little pattern like it's floating like a balloon.

I believe the thing you're talking about is the Akkan's passive ability for the range increase?

If it's not that, then I have no idea what you're seeing

I was wondering the same thing...

it is a dot above all ships in the game, it happens more often later in the game than earlir.

The Akkan's "aura" shows as a red dot-and-crosshair icon above affected ships.

what about the glowy radiation symbol I see on ships sometimes?

Means they got hit with the radiation bomb (Marza special ability) and are taking damage over time.
