Battlefleet Gothic

Battlefleet Gothic

I don't know if any of you guys are a fan of the mini's genera. Did anyone here ever play games workshops short lived Battlefleet Gothic.

That game was pretty fun.

Some of the stuff I liked from there.

1. Massive torpedoes

Were talking about ship killers that you had to move the ship out of the way from and could use to move other guys ships out of areas that you wanted to go into.

2. Boarding action

You could fire "boarding torpedoes" and basically take over a ship or failing at that sabotage large sections of it.

3. Ramming / Fire Ships

Some ships could ram it was pretty sweet some could also function like a big torpedo.... that was awesome.

4. The ships had sections you could knock out an engine ... that was pretty cool.

5. Ships could really blow up

As in they would implode and take down anyone who happened to be near them that was pretty awesome.

6. Some ships as i recall could use gravitic and solar wind effects

Wow, you have even eviller taste in music than I do. Once I get back to my fleet and get some of it painted, I'll take some pics. The imperials are black with red and gold trim and white prows, while the chaos is this lovely deep blue enamel with gold highlights (thousand sons anyone?) and some serious bridge conversions. Towers and spikes and stuff for the gothic castle look. Fun stuff.

and bloodstains

Wait a minute, wait a minute, WHAT!?

Those things are three or four KILOMETERS long each! How much blood would you need for all that!?

Chang, those are some damn fine looking ships! Maybe we should texture our chaos boats like that.

Haha  A year ago, you wouldnt even catch me listing to Avenged Sevenfold (I consider A7X less hardcore than some others I listen too.....) But now I cant get enough of it. A7X has just got such a great sound! I went to a party once and played 'Beast and the Harlot'.... was the best party music ever! (And  no, not the dance-dance sort of party) Lol o_O

Well I was only going to put watered down stains in some very small places, such as flowing out of the bridge windows... I wasnt going to cover the ship in it lol, only small 1mm long stains..... And maybe over the chains as well.... Thanks for the comment though! \o/

Thousands of screaming fanatics?

Well I was more thinking blood from the ship itself... Not from people, as they are wayy too small. Ship needs to bleed too you know!

The imperials are black with red and gold trim and white prows,

Thats exactly how I want to paint my IN fleet too! minus the white prows though... But yeah, the same scheme as the Chaos ships on the GW website. What a coincidence! Lol. Ill probably leave my prows black....

Haha, third post in a row.... sorry, But I have to ask you, what would look better? What xeneth is doing (Black undercoat followed by a dry-brushing of red, with gold trim. This will make all the recesses black, and all the 'ribs' red) Or what someone else did (Undercoat black, but then PAINT it in dark red, so the recesses go dark red, THEN dry-brush in a lighter red, so all the 'ribs' are a lighter red, with gold trim)? Im leaning towards the first one, but i dunno. WHat do you think?

I think either would look good...

I don't drybrush so all my stuff looks like poo x_x

Quick question: for the Tau, is there going to be any distinction between the Kor'Vattra (earlier) fleets and the Kor'or'vesh (later) fleets? Because the later ones seem to be ALOT better than the ones presented by teh BFG rules.

Dude, look over the stats for the hero. Look over them again. Then look at the price. The Kor'vattra's plenty good. The later ships will all be mid-late game unlocks. The tau will start very weak, with only the explorer but will become steadily stronger as the game progresses.

I actually like the SG models for Tau ships better....looks alot like starwars lol. The latter FW ones look like stingrays....

A valid point, though I don't understand the dislike of taking designs from the natural world. I think the Kor'Vattra Tau ships were to some together thrown together and are much more utilitarian in design, wheras now that the Air Caste knows more about how to build a warship now they can kind of start going nuts with more artsy designs.

Anyway, I think the whole concept of wide-rather-than-long spaceships is underused, especially in BFG. Only the necrons use ships that are wider rather than longer to emphasize the firepower you can bring to bear on a target in front of you. I think that the Kor'Or'Vesh fleets are really cool in how their aesthetic sets them apart from the Kor'Vattra and other fleets.

But Chang the argument there is that the Forgeworld ones look more Tau-esque. <_<

I dont mind if they look 'Tau-esque'..... In fact I think it looks brilliant. The only reason I dont like teh FW ones is because they are wider than they are longer, which gives off more of an aeroplane feel rather than a ship feel.  Same as in Sins, I really disliked the Kodiak because of its blocky look. I know its stupid... But for me, ships need to look like ships! Now, if there was a plan to combine the FW and SG models, so that you get long but sleek ships with lots of fins, then Im all up for it!

Technically the Earth Caste would be the ones designing the ships :banhammer:

Hey does anyone know how to make cameras focus better? I got a camera from my step mom and it's 3.1 megapixels, which she told me was pretty good. Like heres a picture of my cat, and its really clear. But when I take a picture of a model close up, its fuzzy and everthing in the backround is clear.

EDIT: More proof:

Thats Kiernyc's dog Bagel.

Fuzzy Ultramarine Tyranid Hunter

 RAWR FOCUS!!!!

Depends on the camera. Try some kind of manual mode to set the focus yourself.

:fox:

I think I just need a higher MP camera... and I guess my mom's is crap too. If I keep the camera futher away and just zoom in, it's still kinda outa focus and it's all pixely and stuff :annoyed:

Ok, so really quick...

...what's the progress on this mod? Screenshots? Demos? Videos? Aynthing? Cameras, soda, and star wars are all cool, but....I just can't wait for this mod! XD

screenshots are all over the thread and if you go to our modcraft page there are more there

and there is little to no progress because we are all either distrated by RL or in my case incapacitated by a computer malfunction and are awaiting a replacement computer (which i might add has got delayed AGAIN)

after we have overcome that we will try our hardest to get a public beta out for all you people to enjoy... aint that right x?
