I don't know if any of you guys are a fan of the mini's genera. Did anyone here ever play games workshops short lived Battlefleet Gothic.

That game was pretty fun.

Some of the stuff I liked from there.

1. Massive torpedoes

Were talking about ship killers that you had to move the ship out of the way from and could use to move other guys ships out of areas that you wanted to go into.

2. Boarding action

You could fire "boarding torpedoes" and basically take over a ship or failing at that sabotage large sections of it.

3. Ramming / Fire Ships

Some ships could ram it was pretty sweet some could also function like a big torpedo.... that was awesome.

4. The ships had sections you could knock out an engine ... that was pretty cool.

5. Ships could really blow up

As in they would implode and take down anyone who happened to be near them that was pretty awesome.

6. Some ships as i recall could use gravitic and solar wind effects

mine are in
C:\Documents and Settings\Jacob\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ScreenShot

of course you would change the jacob to your user name buuut.... thats where the screenshots are kept and the mods are in the mod folder which is in the folder above that

Awesome. I'm still trying to come up with a good pair of chaos and IN fleets, But a repulsive and Emperor cost radically different amounts of points, which is rather inconvenient, so I'll probably need an odd number of plastic cruisers. BRING ON THE BITZ! :d

That's great!

You know, we might wish to consider making a new post that's oriented around the creation of the mod itself, rather than just one based around the corpse of the illustrious Darker's suggestion post.

Yes, we've been thinking the same. I'd say once we have some screenshots of a current build in full glory definitely, but otherwise, it's one of those "get around to it when we do" things. Feel free to ask for stuff you want to know about when we do get that post up.

And yes, that referrals page is pretty nice, but it'll get better when we release. :CONGRAT:

Hey all, been following this since the first post figured it would be a good time to register. I saw a few pages back a question of scale and found this on a BFG forum that is pretty accurate to the fluff for BFG. Hopefully it will help the modelers.

I hang out in that forum a lot (specialist-games.com's forums, no?), and I should've mentioned that, because I have seen it before, but keep in mind that given the relative shapes and proportions, a cruiser is still much bigger than an ISD, and could probably toast it, while the loads of escorts in the Imperium are pretty sizable and powerful in their own right. So Star Wars does have the biggest ships, but BFG ships can probably toast their equivalents.

Well a ISD is 1,600 meters so the closest ship in size would be a firestorm escort... the BFG ships seem ridiculously over sized. I think a ISD could pwn a firestorm really easy.

You know you play too much 40k when you can only afford to eat beans but "look at this new model I just got..."


One day an Inquisitor was cleansing a planet led by an evil count. The Inquisitor finally caught the count and took him to the torture chambers for interogation. The count would never say anything. Finally the Inquisitor decided to just execute the count. Right before the servitor swung the axe to decapitate him, the count yelled "STOP! I'LL TELL YOU ANYTHING!". But being a mindless servitor, the creature swung the axe anyway before the Inquisitor could stop it. The Inquisitor left the room to write in his log, "Don't hatchet your counts before they chicken".

The "cannon" on the firestorm is only prow mounted lance battery. The Nova Cannon mounted on some of the Imperial Cruisers thats a totally different story, Big Bada-Boom!
