1v1 , time taken to kill AI concerns me , for ladder

Testing 1v1 expert small maps , I simulated how long a 1v1 should take.

Settings I used
- No flags , no maurauders , low resources , 1v1 hard AI , 1 star 10 planets.

I played 3 games with the Hard AI.

What concerns me a bit is that my games lasted around 1 hour to 1hour 30 mins.

The general strategy I used was to colonised my side then Rush Tech to Kols , Rushed in and killed every AI planet with 3 Kols backed up with Cobalts.

What concerns me is if it takes an 1 hour 30 mins to "thrash" somebody which technically is the fastest type of 1v1 game, then thats a big problem for ladder play as ladder games should strictly be around 10mins-1hour.

This is assuming ladder games are played on 1 star 10 planets.

There's several features in the game that "speeds up" the gameplay. For one, obviously, increased resources means faster game so that could solve AI ladder games.

For players against players that want slow resources, keep in mind that people have 2 things that AI don't: bold moves and stupid mistakes. I've observed an AI ally on hard difficulty and he plays cautiously, keeping his cards close to his chest. He does attack and take planets occaisionally but most of his moves are passive, keeping him well defended but making no real advances in expansion. People do. They can gamble and attack a fortefied base or they can neglect a wormhole opening on their flank and lose a planet. Also, if you take out an AI's army they can recover quickly. People try to sum up the damage and pay too much time on saving the army, making the person easier to conquer and making the game end sooner.

The devs have commented that things will be balanced differently for multiplayer (beta 3-4), so let's concentrate on single player for now

I can't imagine playing a game of sins that last under an hour
