I got charged for Sins....why?

I pre-ordered the game last week and a charge showed up but went away the next day. Just today I noticed that I had a charge for the game AGAIN. Even though the game is not going to come out for close 8 months. I thought when you pre-order you dont get charged until it ships.

Preordering Sins means that you can participate in the Beta (i.e. play right now) and that's why you've been charged.

You have access to Beta 2, and that's why it charged you. It charged again a week ago to verify that you can actually be billed. And no, pre-ordering requires you to put a payment down (like when you pre-order games in a store). In this case, you pay for all of it.

I hope it comes out I guess every other time I have pre-ordered a game (on places like EBGAMES and elsewhere) they did not charge you until the game shipped. Thats why I was confused.

Well, since you've preordered, and have been charged, you can play the game now. preordering gives you access to the beta process. Feel free to download the game off Stardock Central. Give us your critique and your feelings on the game. You have direct input to the game and there are always developers roaming the forums to read it.

Enjoy the game!
