Broadcast centers

Broadcast centers should sporadically be able go send you vital intel like spy structures. the intel comes in the form of news bullutins about other races..such as..#
this just in..at 8:30 local time , siege frigates from the playerX began bombardment of playersY planet.

The more broadcast centers you have , the more bullitins you will recieve..and maybe you might get more vital intelligence.

lol yea..i guess thats basically my point. Seems like broadcast structures are just culture+10 buildings. not very 4xey

talking about culture , I wish the spreading effect was better looking than just the space lane line changing color...

Expect more to come from culture in the future, esp w/r to the other factions.

I like the idea of a haze that spreads over the galaxy. it would make zooming out look much cooler (although you would have to hit a button to see it, perhaps up by the empire window?)

Ok using the same thread...new suggestions

Private Corperations that set up in your system.

the idea of private companies is they add a bonus to the overall taxation in a planet. And for the game , add a layer of immersion that your empire is actually living.

In every game but only for TEC since they are traders , there are many private corperations, about 20 types in the game , with about 5-6 appearing in your current game.

for example.

Zubushi Processing
Talani Transport Company
Traxis Missle Research and Development Empirium
Concordia Merchants

Private corperations chooses TEC players to setup their corporation adding a bonus in Tax to that planet. They setup a HQ at one of your planets and start sending shuttles to planets.
However if their corperation headquarters gets blown up or if their corperate shuttles get blown up by the enemy..then they get fustrated and move to a different TEC player. You can also provide Corperations incentives to join your empire with cash. In the long run you will get your money back as they add Tax.

Corperation private shuttles are controlled much in the same way as AI tradeships , but they move from the corperation base along routes to planets and you can actually see their shuttles landing at planet trade ports

Various corperations also give specific bonuses to TEC races..
forexample

Traxis Missle Research and Development Empirium will provide your LRMs with a 20% increase in firepower. The corperation will forexample offer you a contract. 500 gold for this upgrade.

Talani Transport Company might offer your Tradeships and refineries advancements in capacity.

Concordia Merchants might offer better tax bonuses and improve trade efficieny

Zubishi Processing can help to increase your ship production power.

Coorperations will offer contracts for these upgrades. They may be limited in time. And you cant ask a coorperation for it . They will give you a contract when they feel its ok.

Cooperations hate pirates, but more so they hate setting up camp in any race that has a high bounty. High bounties on your planets willl automatically drive private corperations away since they are fearful of pirates.

I rather like the OPs suggestion that broadcast centres are for intel, but here is another one, trade ports should increase the allegiance of the plant? so far I don't see much point in trade ports apart from making more money, and as its tricky to really place them, I don't really bother with them, but there needs to be a way for the planet to do an open revolt against you if their allegiance is low, so there needs to be a way to increase it to stop that happening, but it would be good if abilites like propaganda war or something along those lines, to slowly make a planet shift from one faction to another, maybe the broadcase centre could do this for the TEC? research a highish level ability to enable this to be done, then you can build a special ship that would sneak to the planet you want to take over and it will slowly persuade the planet to their side,

but there will have to be a way to detect this or some mid or late warning, and some means of stopping or detecting the propaganda ship, but this I think would really spice up gameplay so its not just about bombing a planet to take it over, but other means through stealth and cloak and dagger, maybe this ability should only really used by The Advent and the TEC only, while the The Advent should have a bonus to this perhaps able to do it faster?

what do you guys thing? I think gameplay would be a lot better, and more tactical,
