great find

Something i notiched in the article,
Sins picks up as the TEC is confronted with a two-front war, facing the desperate Vasari on one side and the fanatical Advent on the other. Players will be able to control any of the three major factions in either multiplayer or single-player sandbox mode.

Does this mean you cant pick the race to play in the campaign?

If there is a campaign as such the quoted part doesn't imply you can choose a side. Sandbox isn't a scripted campaign. It would be great to have three campaigns but for replayability I hope most of the efforts go into sandbox.

Same here as i'll be spending most of my time in sandbox modes. also great screenshots of the advent in that article.

Ok so its been confirmed, 3 more betas!

"We are currently working on the second phase of our beta, which will start to address any major gameplay concerns. After that, we have a multiplayer technical beta planned and then, finally, a multiplayer-balancing beta. These will likely all be distributed equally over the remaining time period before our February 2008 release. We are very interested in getting in tons of testing and player feedback--we want the Sins that you buy and take home to be as robust as possible."

ALSO.....

I've never seen this ship before.... It looks VERY TECish... I wonder what it could be?

TEC it sure is, maybe the ship is some kind of "megaship" looks very big, and seems to be build, for the reason of war. As it doesnt look like a converted ship
Reply #6 Top
Well, this ship screams Carrier.

It has a large tower on the aft, two launch modules for fighters/bombers.
but but but..... the game already has a carrier...

Hmmm.. They should allow a group of us to work on a bonus fan campaign to be included with a special promo offer. We always got to feed that big bad marketing dog. Such a project would also generate lots more interest and activity on the forums and that is always a good thing -yes?

But does it have a supercarrier?

It may also be a flying support ship, I see minimal or nonexistent weapons on it, a flying fighter factory perhaps?

Fantastic article, great screenshots, I love Blairs enthusiasm!

Waffle Toasting Slots?

I'm gonna go with that one, a fleet needs to be well fed.

There no doubt, those are advent ships. It is the second picture under April 24,2007 from this link. Picture Link

They're for bagels, actually, but yeah.

The virtue of bagels, so often overlooked by great military leaders

Also have you noticed there is in fact two of those ships in the shot?

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, since in an earlier thread the large ship in the bottom of the shot was confirmed to be Vasari, since all the others (except the TEC ones) conform to the "Scarab" design ethic (and that's how Blair himself put it) of the Vasari, I doubt they are Advent.

The Advent ships are more Star Destroyer-esque from what we've seen.

NOW that you mention I DO see 2 of them. "EVIL GRIN"

Here what I know about the advent ships they do look like Star Destroyer however there are some ship that don't alway follow the "specific to one race look". For example, the "bagel lanchers" look just like it IS made for battle while all normal capital ship don't. I just realize I make a mistake on labeling second picture as advent. Only if the forum could let us edit our comment. The 4 and 5 picture on the same link are advent fighting tec. However the picture with pyramid-esque ships are possible the guy who hunting down the Vasari or not meh.

Space bagels.

It doesn't look that much like a megaship.
I mean, we've got some dreadnoughts or summat in the background for compariso, and they look quite similar; and the image in question is taken from a quite close vantage point.

"am I the ONLY one to see the
HUGE MASSIVE WEAPON ARMS OF DOOM!!!
?" Yes. Those are frigates.

there are still the launcher thingies.

It's because we read them all...those interviews are for people who haven't heard of Sins yet...Still, sometimes there's a couple of new things...

What I meant is I don't see any turrets. And they seem like fighterbays.

Who hasn't heard of sins yet?

Good question
