When you have thousands of people downloading something, some percentage of them are going to run into some problem.

So if you encounter any problems updating GalCiv from Stardock Central or downloading it via our website, post here. We'll be watching this like a hawk.

For TexasTim65 and people whose SDCentral doesn't offer the choice to upgrade Galciv to version 1.02

Try to register Galciv again (Tools->Register Products).

Worked for me. Hope it helps.

Hey guys,

Can someone help me out? I can't seem to download the multimedia files. Everytime I try there seems to be an error during extraction. The music files are corrupted and it just stops working.

Hope someone can shed some light on my problem.

I have something. It worked for me. When you have the error, look at the last line of the log file. You will see the file not found. Go to the directory and you'll see that the uncompressed file (xxx.mp_ for example) is not there but the uncompressed one is present (xxx.mp3 in our example). Juste create a dummy xxx.mp_ file by copying the mp3 one for example and relaunch the update. SDCentral will see that your uncompressed file is not the correct one and will redownload it. It worked for me. It was just wewin.mp_ and one of the bik file in the setup directory.

I had problems downloading the multi media files many times. Each time you have the problem stardock central will download the file you failed to extract again. after about six tries I got it to download. I also reset the aplication data under tools once. :D

I can't download the multimedia expansion pack. It fails on the following error.
Files\Stardock\SDCentral\temp\Mod_Multimedia\movies\imps\InfoNet.bi_
Result: Failed (deleted file)
Installation aborted (failed)
I deleted the file, but that didn't help.
any suggestions? It also doesn't play the music.

I had all sorts of problems with SDCentral until I killed SETI@home.

What is there in SDCentral running at Idle priority?

KCGibby: try turning Caps Lock on, and if you still have trouble, try changing the letter O to zero and vice versa, and things like that.

slackdaddy: if refreshing application data or clearing out SDC's temp folder doesn't help you, e-mail [email protected]

If I remember correctly, the downloading works on individual files correct? I accidently deleted CorePol.Party from the galciv/data folder, but the download manager doesn't recognize that I have missing files. How can I fix this?

I don't know if this still works, but you used to be able to delete the entry from the xml file of the installed stuff.

I'll send you a clean copy.
