Never got the lAg , never seen a DP in EvE however all things aside RESIST its bull**** and we all know it. Pay up or no play UgH what a bad and outdated system.

Its a system that earns money, and people still play the games, so in the end they win.. sadly

i love how every conversation about eve which could be about the endless game mechanics, a market which has far more items then any other mmo, a player built economy, the ability to change the entire game and the way events unfold, or the amazing support and constant add-ons and free expansions, or the dx10 overhaul which will make eve the best looking mmo on the planet, etc etc... but we never discuss these things because it always boils down to 14 bucks a month is WAY TOO MUCH... it's kind of pathetic. the pay2play debate has been discussed to death. if you are too poor to afford it, then why even comment? it's like going to a lambo dealership and slagging off the cars because you can't afford them.

this is a plus side for me. eve's steeeeeeep learning curve, deeeeeeeeeeeep gameplay and monthly fee keep the chuck norris jokes on other mmos where they belong. this game imho is quite possibly one of the greatest games ever made. it's the thinking man's mmorpg. it takes brains, not clicking. you have to think about the choices you make. you have to THINK... omg what a concept.

it truly suprises me to see all of these sci fi junkies come in here and bash one of the greatest sci fi epics of our time, simply because of a monthly fee. the game lets you increase your skills without even being online. that alone is worth the payment imho. and if you people think that a game company shouldn't make a profit, that's just crazy. you think it's cheap to run a 30,000 player server? grow up and get jobs, or don't come in here and slag a game based on price. that has nothing to do with the gameplay.

from a 3rd-person angle.
perhaps this means something about the game.

watch and learn future game developers!

yeah, it means that it's good enough that over 100,000 people are willing to play it. some with multiple accounts.

peak player numbers is 30k and majority of those players are people using multiple accounts (dual or even triple accounts...ive even run into a person running 4 accounts at a time)

I'm just saying, when you have that many people, perhaps its cost efficient to lower the monthly fee by say, 10 bucks?

dont tell me you ACTUALLY believe all that money goes to network maintenance, I'll laugh mfao

okay, world of warcraft has like 7 million... it's just as expensive. your point is retarded. a 32 player counter strike source server can be upwards 150 bucks a month. i wonder how much a 30,000 player css server would cost?

considering if a 32 player server costs 150 bucks a month, which probably it doesnt, probably costs half the amount... but lets say for the argument that it is.  Thats 4.6 dollars per player.  figure in the factor that for every 100 fold you can reduce the price per player in half.  thats 2.3 for 15000  and probably 1.5 for about 100k.

However you also got to keep in mine how many they keep on for development, actually running the servers, stockholders, CEOs and tech support, etc.

Its a bit more probably cost upwards of around 8 dollars per player.  Then you have to make a profit.  Thats where the rest comes in.  However also keep in mind alot of people dont pay when they buy the PLEXs in game with the the in game currency.  They are charging a fair amount for a game that is so time consuming, that it would probably be the only game youd play.  Not too mention all the money you save not going to bars or going on dates because you have no life. lol id say j/k, but really Im not, the game is that addicting.

The only in game complaints about the game Ive seen are from the more anti social players or people who dont wait to wait to skill up that high.

Personally I stopped playing because im married and have kids.  The only real way you can get into that game is if you are single.  Its so time consuming, not that I can complain about that, because its an enjoyable time consuming.  In a player corp, you are probably spending on a mission together to do a roam for dog fights about 2-4 hours per mission.  Docking, and then re upping again.  Its hard stuff.

well to edit my post... its not the only reason why I stopped.. Im more or less waiting for a new space MMO thats just as good but fresh and new coming out.  Im might go back to the game though.  Its a fun game.

Let me get this clear, if you get eve, you get all of the upgrades and updates?

Yeah.  Every Eve expansion is provided free with subscription, and as as far as I know the base game itself is free aside from the monthly subscription.  Way easier on your wallet than World of Warcraft.
