Question: a "sendable" engagement gift??

My best friend, Laetitia, lives in France. She has been in a relationship with Gaetan for about 4 years and they are very happy together. So happy that they have decided to take the relationship one step further by announcing their official engagement on July the 20th.

Of course I was invited, but she let me know last month. Financially I am abit tight to go and have such a long journey from here. So unfortunately I wont be able to attend and we are all very disappointed.

I want to make up by sending her and Gaetan a nice gift. The problem is I have no idea what is a suitable gift for an engagement. And the other thing is that it should be something that can be sent by mail without me worrying about it being squashed or breaking.

I'd like her to see that i didnt forget about her. I dont know how to show it :(

So if you have any ideas JU, i'm all ears!

Maybe you can find out what they need...a household item or something of that sort. You can also send them a pretty frame or photo album for their wedding pics.
Hmm...what else...What about a gift card or a congratulations gift basket?

Whatever you choose, make sure to send them a heartfelt card or letter...I am sure they will cherish that more than any gift.

If you could arrange it from where you are, you could have a simple bouquet of flowers sent. That shows you are thinking of them and as InBloom said, they will appreciate the thought no matter what the actual gift is. I actually was thinking of a nice wedding picture frame as well. That should be easy to ship.

I agree with both Jenny's and Rose's ideas. See what they need and arrange for a store to send it to them from there. A gift basket is a great idea! Just find a place that will create a wonderfully decadent basket and have them send it to them. Or to make things simpler, you could do it yourself, just go to one of those stores that sell hand creams, lotions and perfumes and stuff like that and create your own decadent basket, and throw in some eatable undies too!

By "tasteful" adult toys I mean things like fur mittens, large feathers, massage oils, candles, maybe a blindfold (if she's adventurous) or some chocolate body paint, and a sexy card or dice game to play with your partner.


Great ideas whip! I didn't relised those edible undies doesn't taste good. What's the point, apart from the obvious of course!LOL! But it should at least taste good!

My hubby has been promising me for us to go into one of those adult stores to do some fun shopping. I'm gonna hold him to it.

See, now you have me envisioning a sexy young girl in a bikini holding up a tray of "free samples" of edible undies, with small morsels skewered on toothpicks for your sampling pleasure. Maybe the "adult" stores could sell more of these things if they did more consumer research? (ie, "taste these panties"; "NOW taste THESE panties!")
