Though I would agree with you in spirit, I would have to add to this that, though we do try, none of us believers is perfect. We try and fail. That's where Jesus' sacrifice comes in.

He doesn't...that's why Cowher thanked Him for the abilities, the talents, of the players, and for keeping them healthy. God doesn't care about stuff like games. or even wars, for that matter. That's our thing.
That's why, for example, my coach in High School never prayed for a victory, only asking that He would protect us and help us to do our best.
