He doesn't...that's why Cowher thanked Him for the abilities, the talents, of the players, and for keeping them healthy. God doesn't care about stuff like games. or even wars, for that matter. That's our thing.
That's why, for example, my coach in High School never prayed for a victory, only asking that He would protect us and help us to do our best.
