Have you ever had a strange moment? Feeling?

This is one of those times...

It must've been nearly 3-4 years ago when my mum and i headed over the hill (Cascades) to the rogue valley. (Which encompasses Ashland, Medford, Central Point, Eagle Point, Jacksonville, and many other areas.) More specifically we were heading to Jacksonville which is a small town which holds the "Britt Festival" and was host to President Bush a few years back. In this town is a cemetery, which, due to how old the town is, has fairly old markers. On some there were births from 1756, and later. I suggested a quick trip up to it, just to look around. (It sits on the side of the hill)
While we drove through the cemetery we spotted a man who stood about 6-7 feet from his tan Cadillac and was examining a grave marker. He had black hair, a pale complexion and stood about 6 feet. As we turned a corner and ran perpendicular to his car, he flagged us down and proceeded to walk over, I think. I remember that day very well, but, i don't remember him going from point a, to point b. I remember him starting to walk over, then i remember him standing near the car. We struck (cautiously) a conversation with him and he proceeded to tell us that he was on vacation, visiting his parents who happened to live in medford. I happened to notice a bottle that looked (from previous experience) to be a wine cooler bottle.
I told him of what my plans were for college,etc... (Which at that time was heading into international relations stuff) (As he asked.) And he told me that that happened to be what he majored in and that he (at the time) worked for the CIA. (

) He also said he was a divorcee and had a 3 year old daughter who was back east. (In Virginia.) Throughout this conversation i had a very strange, very creepy feeling. I couldn't place it exatly, but i knew it had to do something with him. I noticed that his cadillac had no plates, and no tag in the back, no form of identification what so ever. He showed us a picture of his daughter and i tried to get a look at his license (via the car mirror) and was unable to place where it was from.
The main point of writing about this was, I started to think about it and just couldn't make any sense of it. Nothing seemed to add up with the guy. He told us his name was "Nicolas Von Hoffman. (Or, Nichlaus Vonhofman / Von Hofman... Never got a definate spelling of it.) So, with the feeling i had, i checked and checked and checked for the name, under various spellings, and found nothing at all.

Perhaps I'm over reacting, but it was one of those times where you get those feelings, the eerie ones that you are unable to explain and only go away when the thing that causes them goes away. I do know that it couldn't have been the cemetary because i have been there before.

Thats all that i can think of at the moment.

I thought you were going to say that after the guy left you went over to the grave that he had been looking at and it had his name on it! It sounds like a ghost story. Bet you could make up a good one using it.

Perhaps....

I never thought about it that way... But, it is indeed real; one of life's strange encounters....

We actually left imediatley afterwards.... I (and later my mom told me she did as well) just had one of those feelings about the guy...not scared....but...just...
