I have ReadyBrek and Marmite!

I got my shipment from The English Tea Store today. (www.englishteastore.com)

I got me some ReadyBrek, some Tate and Lyles Golden Syrup, and some Marmite.

I am curretly enjoying a large bowl of the ReadyBrek with a big dollop of Golden Syrup in it, and when I am done I am going to have some toast and Marmite.

I am also feeling like I'm 9 years old again, and I miss my mum.

No, that's marmalade.  Marmite is brown stuff that's made from yeast extract that you spread on toast.

Man Marmite! I have a jar in my cupboard that my friends brought for me from Englad last year. I love that stuff. My kids and husband on the other hand does not. I tell them they have to acquire the taste! Yummy on toast.

Ugh, Marmite! I tried that when I was over there and wanted to retch. I can acquire the taste for scones, clotted cream, HobNobs/McVities, fish 'n' chips, and most traditional English foods, but...Marmite.

Marmite stands alone in it's taste...people ask me what it tastes like and I can't think of anything to compare it to. Most people who weren't raised on it detest it.

Kind of like Grits.  But from the description, I would like to try it.  I will have to see if I can find some.
