Well as many of you dont know Lance Armstrong has announced that he is going to ride in the 2005 Tour De France. He will be going for his seventh straight victory to break his own record. In my opinion anyone that can ride over two-thousand miles in about twenty-eight days give or take is quite an accomplishment. The team consists of twenty-eight people. Lance Armstrong (USA)
José Azevedo (POR) Michael Barry (CAN) Manuel Beltran (ESP) Fumiyuki Beppu (JAP)Volodymyr Bileka (UKR) Janez Brajkovic (Slovenia) Michael Creed (USA) Antonio Cruz (USA) Tom Danielson (USA) Stijn Devolder (BEL) Viatcheslav Ekimov (RUS) RogerHammond (GBR) Ryder Hesjedal (CAN) George Hincapie (USA) Leif Hoste (BEL) Benoît Joachim (LUX) Jason McCartney (USA) Patrick McCarty (USA) Gennady Mikhaylov (RUS) Benjamin Noval (ESP) Pavel Padrnos (CZE) Yaroslav Popovych (UKR)Hayden Roulston (NZL) Jose Luis Rubiera (ESP) Paolo Savoldelli (ITA) Jurgen Van Den Broeck (BEL) and Max Van Heeswijk (NED). All of these guys have a specific job...not just to ride. You may have remembered the team as team USPS, USPS had deciede to let the contract expire and now the team is TEAM DISCOVERY. This season should be very interesting none the less. "I am grateful for the opportunity that Discovery Communications has given the team and look forward to achieving my goal of a seventh Tour de France (victory)," said Armstrong. He had also said that he is not in the greatest of conditon but the team trainer may add some more races to his schedule. Right now he is going to ride in the Paris-Nice(Mar 6-13), Tour of Flanders (Belgium) on april 3rd, Tour de Georgia (USA)-Apr 19-24, and the Tour De France on Jul 2-24. All of these races will be brodecasted on OLN (Outdoor Life Network). You can read more about him and the team at http://team.discovery.com.
