Too few people know how to drive...

..... and not just women!!! *cough*

It seems a lot of people decided to sleep through Drivers ED when they were kids... or have just chosen to ignore all the rules of the road and be major liabilities to other drivers....

I just got back from 2 hours on the road that where PURE hell... mainly because some asshole decided my ass was cute, and he would ride it.. THE WHOLE WAY!!! Now, I'm not against people complimenting my ass, not at all!! Just not in this fashion.... If I wasn't in my dad's vehicle, I'd have been real tempted at some point to just slam on the breaks and hope the guy has insurance

I also saw people using the left turn lane (center lane on a 4 lane highway... well 5 lanes I guess counting the center) as a passing lane.... And then there are the people who are going to turn right, but decide to not use the right turn lane to do it, just stay in the normal right side lane and decide that they can cut off the person who's actually using the proper lane and just make their turn.

I think during my trip I saw about 15 close calls, and the whole time with that ASSHOLE riding my ass!!!

Tailgating is something that REALLY pisses me off. I'm by no means a perfect driver, but one thing I'm sure to make sure I do is to NOT tailgate. I k now how nervous it makes me when someone does that to me, so I'm curteous and make sure to keep a respectable distance from the person in front of me... even if they are going slower than I want to go... Just because I want to go faster gives me no reason to make them nervous that I'll not brake quick enough or etc.. and then have them spending more time paying attention to me behind them than the road in front of them.......

What I need to do, and I have the parts for this, is take my old LED scroll typer (not sure of a better phrase for it really, it's about 4 feet wide, and you can hook it up to a keyboard, and have it display words and such...) and place it on the back of a vehicle I drive..... Then when I see some ass riding mine, I get to type out some fun messages like "I appreciate you liking my ass, but please ride it gently.. I'm a virgin down there!" or some other such lovely phrase... I KNOW I'd have no end of fun if I did that...

Though, I bet within a week I'd say the wrong thing... because I can get really pissed at ass riders.. and would end up dead in a ditch some where..... Still tempting though.. would give the cops a great story! LoL

I like the scroll typer idea, very creative Just make sure not to crash while typing on it...

I admit that's one of the things I'd be worried about... knowing me I'd think up too good of a line to stop and think about driving while I was typing it out.... but at least the guy behind me would have a good laugh while I drove off the road into a phone pole or something!!

I was talking to the guy I work with about the very same subject this afternoon.


He said that if he ever won the lottery, he was going to hire some screen time at Busch Stadium during halftime and post a slide show showing people exactly how to merge with oncoming traffic when using an interstate entry ramp....that you're supposed to use the ramp to get up to, or close to, the speed of the rest of the traffic on the freeway.  It's not a place to trundle along at 35 mph, enjoying the scenery.


I said I'd like to explain to people how to operate a motor vehicle at a 4 way stop.  Just because you came to a complete stop, does not mean that you can just merrily pull out into the intersection, ignoring all the cars that were there before you.  You have to wait your turn...an concept seemingly alien to a bunch of people around here.  It's a "i stopped so I'm gonna go" mentality, and some days it makes me want to get out of my car and beat on other people's windshields until they get the point.


I'd LOVE to have one of those scrolling text thingys in the back of my car.  I'd probably get arrested for some of the stuff I'd be saying to people....

Lol, I can only say AMEN to the 4 way stop thing. It's hellatious especially at one of my local towns, Trafalgar. We have a 4 way stop on a highway, that has 10 lanes of traffic coming into it...... if you think just a 4 lane 4 way stop is bad.... this one is perma hell. I don't know what fool decided it'd be a great idea to make the 4 way look like a stop light stop.. since it has the left and right turn lanes coming north and south, and 2 lanes from east and west.... Somehow, amazingly, there havn't been any (bad) wrecks there. Though you have to scratch your head when you see a person in the strait, and left turn lanes across from you who were both there before you (saying only us 3 were at the stop) and having to watch the one guy go strait, then finally watch the other person turn left once the guy who wen't strait has gone way out of the intersection......

Also a big amen to the Onramp thing too!!! Though there is the cloverleaf exception... but if you have one of those decently strait strips of road why would you NOT speed up? Havn't they figured out yet that if your going the speed of the people on the interstate it's actually easier to merge? That way people who are in the right lane won't see that you going hella slower than them and try to sneak past you instead of changing lanes.....

I won't even mention the assholes with 4 wheel drive vehicles who think they can drive perfectly safe on an ice covered road while tailgating a poor guy who's driving a 79' caprice classic with only backwheel drive and no anti-locks.... So many times I wanted to just let him hit me when I had that car... because I KNOW that his truck, as big as it was wouldn't have had a chance of standing up to that Caprice That car was a tank among cars!

Dude, that 4 way sounds like someone designed it after dropping a bad tab of something......what a freakin' nightmare!  We've got one on base that's somewhat like that, and that's the one everyone runs or just stops and goes at.  Thing is, it's right outside the cop shop, so tickets are frequent....I looked over the magistraites court docket for next week, and it's full of tickets for failure to stop, failure to yield etc etc.  I have to attend the next one...it's going to be interesting to see if the drivers look like the ones that cut me off this past week!

Lol, that's scary... the one I described is right by the Police House... It's funny sometimes seeing people from out of county suddenly notice that they shouldn't ignore the flashing red lights and that octogan shaped sign! hehe

I loved my Caprice Classic And I typo'd.. it was an 89... still made out of Steel though... that car was the bomb!! Hydraulic seats, all nice and thickly padded, and HUGE... Me and my friends (all 9 of them from the time) could all cram in there... though it was a tad cramped with that many.. but we could fit 6 easy with no complaining! lol
