Coincidence? I just installed the same card a few weeks ago and am experiencing no noise whatsoever. In fact, the fans rarely spin up at all. (Usually they start up at about 60C and I still can't hear them.)

I have read that some of these RX580 cards produce something called "coil whine"? I have no idea what that is or if I've even got the name right, but manufacturers are saying they will replace those afflicted cards at no cost.

GC III can't be very low level graphics-wise. My PC suffered since I have bought it five years ago from crashes due to (probably) graphics card overheating (although the measured temperatures were still in a reasonable area). That happened sporadically with all graphics intensive games after I played a while. So it happened with Skyrim, what is not surprising, but also with GC III, while games like Darkest Dungeon didn't have that problem.

I also had (and have on my notebook) the experience that GC III causes the fans to switch to higher rotation speed.

Now my graphics card died on Friday, so that problem is "solved" :/ Luckily I have also a gaming capable notebook to continue playing.

Since found out that my Dell machine is know for having a noisy fan when playing demanding games.

Maybe it's something I will have to live with, playing games such as Gal Civ 3.
