On Saturday, April, 29th (19:00 GMT, 15:00 EDT) as a part of Offworld Trading Company release anniversary celebration we're going to hold our 4th Newcomers FFA tournament.
If you recently picked up the game and are trying to find your way around OTC multiplayer, this is an excellent opportunity to compete under tournament conditions against players of similar skill level.
General qualification principle is that all players who have not won any matches in previously held FFA tournaments or have not participated in any tournaments at all qualify. Players who were a part of any Regular FFA tournaments are excluded. However, the organizers reserve the right to hand out wildcards to players who don't necessarily meet these criterias but would fit the format based on their current level.
The tournament will be played using standard multiplayer settings (Mars, reveal map, medium size, random prices, masquerade) over 5 rounds. (Duration is roughly 3 hours.) Before you sign up, please make sure, that you will be available for all 5 rounds.
Each group will play on the same hand-picked map. First 4 rounds will be pre-seeded. Seeding for round 5 is performance-based.
All games will be casted by experienced players who will analyze the matches and provide tips and feedback to help you improve.
Players and subs will be expected to check-in on the tournament Discord channel 10-20 minutes before the start of the tournament. Failure to check-in before 18:50 GMT (14:50 EDT) may result with you being replaced by a sub.
We are aiming for at least 8 players (two groups of 4), but can also expand the bracket to 12, 16 or 20, if enough players are interested.
