What DLCs/Expansions are planned for Star Control: Origins?

I got the founder pack but was wondering what comes in the $100 tier. Given the base game is only $35, that suggests almost twice the content of the main game will be added in the form of DLCs and expansions. I'm wondering if someone from Stardock can elaborate on what is mapped out. I'm tempted to get the "lifetime upgrade" option, but I want to make sure the price increase is justified. Thanks.

Star Control: Origins will take place in our little corner of the milky way galaxy. While there are thousands of planets and we expect it to take as long or longer than Star Control 2 to finish the main story, we have many different adventures in mind for the future that will add new aliens, new worlds to explore, new ships, new components for your main ship and so forth.

At the very least, we have 3 major expansions along with about a dozen DLCs that will range from adding new stories all the way down to cosmetic enhancements to your ships and everything in between.

To use a crude example, if Star Control 2 had been called Star Control: Ur-Quan, then what ws called Star Control 3 would have been a DLC for Star Control: Ur-Quan (like DLC: Space Cows...)

The concept of DLC violates the whole idea of the vast mysterious galaxy.

Now instead of a space adventure where any alien race could be behind the next system I just see coders adding things....ugh.

Honestly in any space game, I'd say probably the most epic DLC, especially with games that have Earth as the primary planet, would be... Constantly updated star charts that reflect NASA observations of our neighboring solar systems

Honestly I'd likely laugh my butt off if they sneak in a race of beings that warship space cows and we wind up sending them straight jackets

Given what Frogboy said, it would be pretty easy to add new systems and alien races without impacting existing ones. I'm assuming a bit here, but think of it as expanding known space rather than dropping a new species into "known" space.

Actually it'd be very easy to toss in new life, be it feral animals to a race like the Thraddash that are between powers and are currently unable to utilize space flight.

Yes I'd be super excited to see TFB rejoin & re-introduce the classic races as I truly wonder what they'll do to the races we know/love.

Now a different way we could see the races is... has it been calculated how many & which races were driven to extinction or trapped in their own world via the shields during the Urquan Civil war?

However that could be a big punch to the feels to see a race we know/love fall to extinction at the hands of the Kohr-ah or imprisoned behind a slave shield depending on how things played out. -- maybe a branching story line with our actions determining if a race goes extinct or enslaved.
