Hi,
I have a request regarding factories. Supreme Commander introduced a brilliant feature that allowed factories to "guard" one another. Guarding factories would feed off the queue of the factory they guarded. This greatly simplified production management: you built 10 factories, double clicked them, right clicked one of them, and then set a repeating queue on the factory you right clicked. Instantly, all 10 factories would begin producing. The nine guarding factories would even rally to the point set by their "boss" factory.
Unless I'm missing some awesome feature (do tell me if I am!) in Ashes one must create the factories and give each factory a build queue and set each to repeat. In my mind this is a step backward from the macro-management features introduced in SupCom. I am aware that Ashes has a reinforcement feature but this is too manual for my tastes and how I play these large scale RTSes. I like to have several factory groups all of which are set to repeating build queues. Then I can push units down different paths very easily. E.g. factory group 3 pushes to the left and factory group 4 pushes to the right. The reinforcement feature is simply too flimsy for my tastes. It's too manual, armies die all the time, so units en route get lost, etc. I just can't see how it's useful outside of asking for a few medics every once and a while.
Also, on a related note, it would be very helpful to have a "pause" icon appear on a factory when you've paused a factory.
