Hey, I wasn't sure where to post this as it isn't an in-game bug, but a steam setup bug. I just built my new system and installed Ashes through steam. When attempting to start the game (in both directx 11 and 12 modes) steam opened a window that said something like "preparing for first time setup" and then proceeded with the message "installing Directx". After a few seconds this dialogue box would disappear and nothing would happen.
I read through the steam forums and tried deleting the first time setup scripts in the core files, other users have done this for different games with the same issue. That did not work.
What did work was going into the core files and running directx setup manually. After I performed the install the game started in both modes correctly.
This may be specific to me because I was on a new system and this was the first time I was trying to use Directx for anything (although Directx 11 and 12 is said to be built in to windows 10), but I thought if anyone else has this issue I can help them, and the dev's might want to check their install script for issues.
