Thought I would share some feedback since this game is in beta.
I purchased the game using my steam account. I did not receive any instructions on how or where or if I should provide any feedback on my personal experiences while playing.
The tutorials were fine and, very necessary since this game breaks a lot of gaming assumptions I have from years of gaming.
The campaign was confusing for the first few weeks or so, then I think I had it mostly figured out. It was unclear about the requirement to select a map to play. It was confusing because in some maps I could build structures (they were unlocked) and in the next map I couldn't. I was unclear about the new choices in between weeks, like I didn't know what to invest in because I was so new to the game I didn't understand all the building types and uses. In hindsight I should have played some single player skirmishes to learn more before playing the campaign mode.
Graphics and visual gameplay are great. Very professional feel to it.
Audio track is terrible. I assume it was thrown on in a rush to get the game out and the final version will have something much more professional. I really believe some strong instrumental tracks (for background mood) are needed to take this game to the next level.
Graphs and charts need some polishing on the visuals and presentation of the information. They are fine for beta, but don't release the game like this. Yes, a lot of games have poor quality in their graphs and charts, but I think it is an area that is very easy to improve with minimal effort.
Gameplay was crashing intermittently until I added the direct x parameters to the game launcher. Strange thing though is that when I just looked at the game launcher in steam I don't see the command listed there. Would an automatic update overwrite that? The game is not crashing anymore though. (Window 10, intel processor, nvidia graphics card)
Gameplay suffers from mouse lag in the late stages. Moving the mouse over the left panel listing the building types causes it to lag (becomes unresponsive to movement). I get the feeling that the mouse activation of the tooltips on that panel are the cause of the stuttering and lag. I only experience it when there is a lot of graphic updates happening on the map and I try to use my mouse on the building panel. This is on normal speed. Pausing the game restores normal mouse responsiveness.
I haven't tried online play. I will give it a try when I think I have a chance to be competitive with others.
